Prerequisites
Before you install SLM, you must check some prerequisites.
The list of prerequisites:
- The SLM software can be shipped together with the adopting application and is also available as a separate download through the Infor Customer Portal KB 22881484.
- To install and set up SLM you require a Windows system. For more information on supported platforms, check the platform support matrix at Infor Customer Portal KB 1183466.
- Before you perform a remote installation, you must set up a user account on the remote machine. You can install the SLM under any account, not longer than 16 characters. For security reasons, it is recommended to create a separate account, for example SLM.
- For remote installations, the SFTP and SSH daemon must be up and running on either the destination server, UNIX, or Linux. The daemon must have access authorization for the installation account configured.

Notes:
- Modify the firewall in such a way that SFTP and SSH connection can take place. Otherwise, the firewall prevents the port access for the SFTP transfer.
- If for some reason SFTP and SSH protocols are not permitted, you can also perform a manual installation. See details later in this document.
- The SLM MMC snap-in requires Microsoft Management Console version 1.2 or later.
