Table reconfiguration by normal users

Usually, table reconfiguration actions are performed by super users. If table reconfiguration is set up for normal users, normal users may also perform some table reconfiguration actions in these data admin role-enabled sessions:

  • Create Runtime Data Dictionary (ttadv5210m000)
  • Create Runtime Data Dictionary for Infor LN Server (ttadv5211s000)
  • Create Runtime Data Dictionary for Infor LN Server (ttadv5213m000)
  • Convert to Runtime Data Dictionary (ttadv5215m000)
  • Create Runtime Data Definitions without Ref. Integrity (ttadv5217m000)
  • Convert Runtime Directory to Runtime (ttadv5218s000)
  • Reorganize Tables (ttaad4225m000)

To set up table reconfiguration for normal users, complete these steps:

  1. Specify an AMS role in the Data Admin Role field of the AMS Parameters (ttams0100m000) session.
    Note: You can only specify a value in this field if the Enhanced AMS parameter is set to Enabled .
  2. Ensure that this data admin role is assigned to the appropriate normal users in the Role Assignments (ttams4120m000) session..
  3. Ensure that the users have session authorization for the data admin role-enabled sessions. This session authorization can be specified for the data admin role or for any other AMS role assigned to the users.
  4. After changing the contents of the Data Admin Role field, click Dump . As a result, the $BSE/lib/roles/ams.config file is updated or removed:
    • If you specified a role, the name of the role is stored in the ams.config file.
    • If you cleared the field, the ams.config file is removed.

    In a cloud situation, you must not only dump the AMS parameters, but also dump all user files. Click YES to the question about also dumping the user files.

  5. Log off and log on again to apply the changes.

If table reconfiguration has been set up for a normal user, these sessions are also enabled for the user:

  • System Messages (ttaad3290m000) : data admins can change the system message to announce a downtime due to a planned create/convert to runtime.
  • Active Users (ttaad2560m000) : data admins can view all processes instead of only their own processes.
