Create ASCII File Fields and Relations (daxch0203m000)

Use this session to generate ASCII file fields and relations for an exchange scheme automatically.

You can copy ASCII file fields from definition files and LN table definitions, but the definition files have precedence over the LN table definitions.

This process can also run as part of a job. Click Add to Job to start the Job Manager.

Note: A LN table field receives the value based on default if during an import procedure a LN field and an ASCII file field do not match. For example, the ASCII file contains less fields than the LN table. The value specified in the data dictionary is used for this field.

A LN table field remains empty if during an export procedure the ASCII file and LN table do not match.

Exchange Scheme

Enter the code of the exchange scheme.

The exchange scheme is created in the Exchange Schemes (daxch0501m000) session.

ASCII File

Enter the code of the ASCII file.

ASCII File

Enter the code of the ASCII file.

Overwrite ASCII File Formats

If this check box is selected, the existing ASCII file fields will be overwritten.

Create From Definition Files

If this check box is selected, the ASCII file fields are copied from the definition file.

Note: The Create Based on Table Definitions check box is automatically selected.

Create Based on Table Definitions

If this check box is selected, ASCII file fields and relations are generated based on LN table definitions if a definition file is not available.

If a LN table with an identical name exists, the ASCII file fields are copied from the data dictionary.

Note: This check box can only be selected if Create From Definition Files check box is selected.

Create Batch

If this check box is selected, a batch will be created. The batch code can be defined in the following field.

You can only create import and export relations if this check box is selected. The import and export relations are created in the defined batch.

Create Import Relations

If this check box is selected, table and field relations for import of data will be created.

Relations are only created if the ASCII file codes are equal to existing LN table names.

Note: Existing relations are overwritten if the Overwrite Existing Relations check box is selected.

Create Export Relations

If this check box is selected, table and field relations for export will be created. Relations are only created if the ASCII file codes are equal to existing LN table names.

Note: Existing relations are overwritten if the Overwrite Existing Relations check box is selected.

Overwrite Existing Relations

If this check box is selected, existing relations are overwritten.
