Enterprise Unit Categories (tgbrg0132s000)

Use this session to display and maintain the enterprise unit category details.

The category of an enterprise unit is subdivided into these category types:

  • Customer
  • Site
  • Supplier
Note: The symbols for the enterprise units are stored on the server in the $BSE/eme/bmp/symbols directory.

Customer

A type of enterprise unit used to specify external business partners in the supply chain who receive a product, or service, or information from one or more sites within an enterprise (organization).

A customer:

  • Is not part of the enterprise (organization) from which it receives products, services, or information.
  • Need not use LN software.

Site

A type of enterprise unit in which the LN software is used. Several enterprise units of this type can together constitute one physical site of your organization.

Suppose an enterprise consists of two production plants and one financial headquarter. If one of the production plants is situated in the same place as the financial headquarter and the other plants is situated somewhere else, this results in two enterprise units at the same site.

Supplier

A type of enterprise unit that is used to specify external business partners in the supply chain who provide goods or services to one or more sites of an enterprise (organization).

A supplier:

  • Is not part of the enterprise (organization) to which it supplies.
  • Does not need to use LN software.
