Porting set

Enterprise Server 10.8.5 is released with porting set 9.4f.

The Product Life Cycle policy of Infor LN is being applied to porting set 9.4f. For the Product Life Cycle policy, see KB 1946498.

For customers who upgrade to porting set 9.4f, these conditions apply:

  • For customers with a product version in Mainstream Maintenance, there is no difference with regards to porting set updates.
  • Customers with a product version in Extended Maintenance can use porting set 9.4f, if they contracted Extended Maintenance license and the corresponding key is issued (SLM key Product ID 8003, License type = Server).
  • Customers with a product version in Extended Maintenance, who do not contract Extended Maintenance license, cannot use porting set 9.4f or any newer version. The latest runnable porting set for these customers is 9.3j, which was released in April 2021.
  • Customers with a product version in Sustaining Maintenance cannot use porting set 9.4f or any newer version.

The definitions of the Maintenance stages for the product versions and releases of Infor LN, are outlined in the Product Support schedule. This schedule is published in the Infor LN Product Life Cycle policy.

Customers who are not entitled to upgrade to porting set 9.4f can remain using previous porting set releases, which continue to be available through the Infor Support Portal.

A warning section about the Product Life Cycle policy has been added to the Staging Wizard and the Installation Wizard.

Application standard PMC solutions

Several conditions apply for installing application standard PMC solutions delivered by Infor. These conditions apply only after upgrading to Enterprise Server 10.8.5 and porting set 9.4f:

  • For customers with a product version in Mainstream Maintenance, there is no difference with regards to standard application standard PMC solutions.
  • For customers with a product version in Extended Maintenance or Sustaining Maintenance, these conditions apply:
    • These customers can continue to install all standard application standard PMC solutions released before the end of Mainstream Maintenance of their respective application version.
    • These customers can install application standard PMC solutions released after the end of Mainstream Maintenance of their respective application version, under these conditions:
      • They contracted Extended Maintenance license and the corresponding key is issued (SLM key Product ID 8003, License type = Server).
      • The PMC solution is not released after the end date of their Extended Maintenance contract and the corresponding key.

Standard PMC solutions that are blocked for installation because of the Product Life Cycle policy, are mentioned in the Check to Install report. Their status remains “Available”.

With Enterprise Server versions before 10.8 there are no limitations and installing standard PMC solutions continues to behave the same way.

Product lifecycle policy for PMC solutions

From this release, the Product Lifecycle Policy has been activated for installing the software fixes.

For customers with a product version in Extended Maintenance or Sustaining Maintenance, these changes apply:

  • These customers still can install all standard application and tools PMC solutions released BEFORE the end of Mainstream Maintenance of their respective application/tools version.
  • These customers can install standard PMC solutions released AFTER the end of Mainstream Maintenance of their respective application/tools version, under these conditions:
    • They contracted Extended Maintenance license and the corresponding key is issued:

SLM key Product ID 8003, License type = Server

    • The PMC solution is not released after the end date of their Extended Maintenance contract and the validity end-date of the corresponding key.
    • One exception to this rule are post-requisite solutions, that is fixes for bad fixes, that fix previously allowed solutions.
