Warehouse - Item Inventory (whwmd2515m000)

Use this session to obtain an overview of the item inventory by warehouse. You can select a line and access related data through the options on the appropriate menu.

Note
  • Effectivity units of items that are not lot-controlled are not recorded in warehouse inventory.
  • To apply DMS planning to the inventory of the supply warehouse, select the appropriate lines and, on the appropriate menu, choose Direct Material Supply Distribution.

Warehouse

The warehouse in which the item is stored.

Cluster

An object used to group warehouses for which the inbound and outbound flow of goods and materials is planned collectively. For this purpose, the demand and supply of the warehouses of the planning cluster is aggregated. Within a planning cluster one supply source is used, such as production, purchasing or distribution.

If multisite is implemented, a planning cluster must include one or more sites. The site or sites include the warehouses for which the planning processes are performed. A site is linked to one planning cluster.

Warehouse Type

The type of warehouse indicates the purposes for which you can use the warehouse. The warehouse type also determines the data and settings that you can define for the warehouse.

External Site

If this check box is selected, the site belongs to an external party such as a customer or a subcontractor.

An external site can include warehouses in which inventory owned by your company is stored, and for which your company performs planning.

If this check box is selected, you can specify a business partner, sold-to business partner, or a ship-to business partner in the equivalent fields.

Site

A business location of an enterprise that can maintain its own logistical data. It includes a collection of warehouses, departments and assembly lines at the same location. Sites are used to model the supply chain in a multisite environment.

These restrictions apply to sites:

  • A site cannot cross countries. The warehouses and departments of the site must be in the same country as the site.
  • A site is linked to one planning cluster. Consequently, all warehouses and work centers of a site must belong to the same planning cluster.
  • A site is linked to one logistic company.

You can link a site to an enterprise unit or an enterprise unit to a site.

If an enterprise unit is linked to a site, the entities of the site belong to the enterprise unit. Conversely, if a site is linked to an enterprise unit, the entities of the enterprise unit belong to the site.

Site Description

The description or name of the code.

Enterprise Unit

A financially independent part of your organization that includes entities such as departments, work centers, warehouses, and projects. The enterprise unit's entities must all belong to the same logistic company, but a logistic company can contain multiple enterprise units. An enterprise unit is linked to a single financial company.

When you carry out logistic transactions between enterprise units, the resulting financial transactions are posted to the financial companies to which each enterprise unit is linked.

Item

The item code.

Storage Zone

The code of the zone where the item is stored. This zone is used only in warehouses that do not use locations.

Note

This field is for information only.

Inventory on Hand

The physical quantity of goods in one or more warehouses (including the inventory on hold).

LN updates the inventory on hand if items are received or issued.

Note

LN automatically updates the overall inventory on hand for each item throughout all warehouses. The overall inventory on hand is displayed in the Company - Item Inventory (whwmd4100m100) session.

Inventory Blocked

A quantity of goods that is blocked. On-hold inventory can arise when the location, the lot, the zone, or the stock point is blocked. You can block inventory for various reasons, for example, for inspection or cycle-counting.

If a location has been blocked for all transactions, the blocked quantity is equal to the inventory on hand. You cannot partially block the inventory at a location.

Related topics

Inventory on Order

The planned receipts. The inventory has been received and the inbound advice is generated. However, the advice is not yet released. This quantity is included in the economic stock.

Note

LN automatically updates the overall inventory on order for each item throughout all warehouses. The overall inventory on order is displayed in the Company - Item Inventory (whwmd4100m100) session.

Inventory Allocated

Inventory stored in specific warehouses or warehouse locations that is allocated to outbound order lines for which outbound advice is created that is not yet shipped. Also referred to as firm allocation or hard allocation. After the inventory is shipped, that is, has left the warehouse, the allocation is deleted.

The allocated inventory is updated by outbound order lines of the following origins:

  • Sales
  • Maintenance sales
  • Maintenance work
  • SFC Production
  • ASC Production
  • Service
  • Transfer
  • Project
Inventory Blocked for Planning

The quantity excluded from planning. The items exist but are unavailable for planning.

Economic Stock

The economic stock of the item for the current warehouse.

Reorder Point

A set inventory level where, if the total stock on-hand plus total on-order falls below that point, action is taken to replenish the stock.

Inventory control is based on a number of decision rules, which determine when, and in what quantity an item is ordered. This depends on the order method and the values of the following fields in the current session:

  • Reorder Point
  • Economic Order Quantity
  • Fixed Order Quantity
  • Order Interval
  • Maximum Inventory

If the reorder point and the economic order quantity are specified, order advice to replenish the stock is generated as soon as the economic stock falls below the reorder point.

The order quantity can be fixed or variable, depending of the values specified for the Fixed Order Quantity and Maximum Inventory fields.

If you also specify an order interval, order advice is not generated the moment the economic stock falls below the reorder point, but LN checks at fixed points in time whether the economic order quantity has fallen below the reorder point. If yes, LN generates order advice.

Note

The reorder point is updated in the Global Update of Inventory Parameters (whina2200m000) session. If the Update Inventory/Order Data check box in this session is selected for the item concerned, the reorder point is updated.

Inventory Unit

The inventory unit in which the item is stored.

Customer Owned Blocked

The quantity of blocked inventory that is customer owned.

Customer Owned Blocked for Planning

The total customer owned inventory quantity that is considered unavailable from Enterprise Planning perspective.
