Warehouse - Item - Lots Inventory (whltc1505m000)

Use this session to view the lots by warehouse and item.

Note
  • From the appropriate menu you can start the Order related Customer Owned Inventory by Warehouse and Lot (whltc1509m000) session to view customer owned low volume lot-controlled inventory and the related receipt orders. This option is active if the Service package is implemented, but unavailable if no order related low volume lot-controlled customer owned inventory is present.
  • You can access the Split Inventory Lot (whltc1200m100) session using the Split Lot option from the Action menu. This option is disabled if multiple lines are selected.

Warehouse

A place for storing goods. For each warehouse, you can enter address data and data relating to its type.

Site

A business location of an enterprise that can maintain its own logistical data. It includes a collection of warehouses, departments and assembly lines at the same location. Sites are used to model the supply chain in a multisite environment.

These restrictions apply to sites:

  • A site cannot cross countries. The warehouses and departments of the site must be in the same country as the site.
  • A site is linked to one planning cluster. Consequently, all warehouses and work centers of a site must belong to the same planning cluster.
  • A site is linked to one logistic company.

You can link a site to an enterprise unit or an enterprise unit to a site.

If an enterprise unit is linked to a site, the entities of the site belong to the enterprise unit. Conversely, if a site is linked to an enterprise unit, the entities of the enterprise unit belong to the site.

Site Description

The description or name of the code.

Item

The raw materials, subassemblies, finished products, and tools that can be purchased, stored, manufactured, and sold.

An item can also represent a set of items handled as one kit, or which exist in multiple product variants.

You can also define nonphysical items, which are not retained in inventory but can be used to post costs or to invoice services to customers. The examples of nonphysical items:

  • Cost items (for example, electricity)
  • Service items
  • Subcontracting services
  • List items (menus/options)
Inventory Unit

The unit of measure in which the inventory of an item is recorded, such as piece, kilogram, box of 12, or meter.

The inventory unit is also used as the base unit in measure conversions, especially for conversions that concern the order unit and the price unit on a purchase order or a sales order. These conversions always use the inventory unit as the base unit. An inventory unit therefore applies to all item types, also to item types that cannot be kept in stock.

Lot

A number of items produced and stored together that are identified by a (lot) code. Lots identify goods.

In the Item Defaults (tcibd0102m000) session, you can specify whether LN must trace and track lots for an item. If so, the item is registered by lot so that the inventory on hand can be registered individually for each lot.

Effectivity Unit

The code of the effectivity unit

E-item Revision

The revision number of the item.

Lot Date

The lot's inventory date. LN assigns the inventory date to the lot when the lot is received.

You can use inventory dates to retrieve lots based on the outbound priority.

If the outbound priority is LIFO or FIFO, the default for the inventory date is the receipt date. If the item has a particular shelf life, the inventory date is the lot's product expiry date. An item has a particular shelf life if:

  • The value of the Period for Shelf Life field in the Item - Warehousing (whwmd4600m000) session is Days, Months, or Years.
  • A number of shelf life periods is specified in the Shelf Life [Periods] field in the Item - Warehousing (whwmd4600m000) session.

LN determines the product expiry date as follows:

product expiry	date = receipt date + period for shelf life * shelf life [periods]

If the outbound priority is By Location, the lot's inventory date is irrelevant.

Inventory on Hand

The physical quantity of goods in one or more warehouses (including the inventory on hold).

Allocated

Inventory throughout all warehouses that is allocated to outbound order lines. After the inventory is shipped, that is, has left the warehouse, the allocation is deleted. Also referred to as standard allocation or soft allocation. See also inventory location allocation.

If an outbound advice is created while the lot selection is:

  • Any
LN allocates lot inventory for the advised quantity.
  • Same
LN allocates specific lot inventory for the outbound order line's ordered quantity. As a result, if you advise less than the ordered quantity, you are sure that you can ship the remaining quantity from the same lot.
  • Specific
LN allocates specific lot inventory for the outbound order line's ordered quantity.
Inventory Blocked

A quantity of goods that is blocked. On-hold inventory can arise when the location, the lot, the zone, or the stock point is blocked. You can block inventory for various reasons, for example, for inspection or cycle-counting.

If a location has been blocked for all transactions, the blocked quantity is equal to the inventory on hand. You cannot partially block the inventory at a location.

The blocked inventory is expressed in the inventory unit.

Lot inventory on hold can result from blocking or from inspections. For example, a part of the lot is blocked because of a blocked location.

Inventory on Order

The planned receipts. The inventory has been received and the inbound advice is generated. However, the advice is not yet released. This quantity is included in the economic stock.

Note

This field is used only if goods of the lot are returned.

Location Allocated

Inventory stored in specific warehouses or warehouse locations that is allocated to outbound order lines for which outbound advice is created that is not yet shipped. Also referred to as firm allocation or hard allocation. After the inventory is shipped, that is, has left the warehouse, the allocation is deleted.

Blocked for Inbound

If this check box is selected, the lot is blocked for inbound.

This means that receipts from the Purchase Control module and completed orders from the Job Shop Control module cannot be registered.

You can also change this check box in the Lot Blocking (whwmd6120m000) session or Lot Blocking by Transaction (whwmd6121m000) session.

Print Lots by Warehouse

Starts the Print Lots by Warehouse (whltc1405m000) session. By default, LN starts this session to print the report.

Stock Point Inventory

Starts the Stock Point Inventory (whinr1540m000) session in which you can view the lot inventory for each warehouse/item combination.
