Outbound Order Line - Planned Shipment Requirements (whinh4183m000)

Use this session to create planned shipment requirements for the selected outbound order line.

Planned shipment requirements are prerequisites for manually creating one or more projected shipments for an outbound order line.

To manually create a projected shipment for the outbound order line, create a planned shipment requirement and generate a projected shipment from the planned shipment requirement.

You can create multiple projected shipments for the ordered quantity of the outbound order line, but the total quantity of the projected shipments cannot exceed the tolerance specified in the Maximum Quantity Tolerance field in the Warehousing Orders (whinh2100m000) session.

Order

The origin of the warehousing order for which to create projected shipments.

Order Number

The warehousing order for which to create projected shipments.

Order Line

The outbound order line for which to create projected shipments.

Sequence Number

The number that identifies a data record or a step in a sequence of activities. Sequence numbers are used in many contexts. Usually LN generates the sequence number for the next item or step. Depending on the context, you can overwrite this number.

Item

The raw materials, subassemblies, finished products, and tools that can be purchased, stored, manufactured, and sold.

An item can also represent a set of items handled as one kit, or which exist in multiple product variants.

You can also define nonphysical items, which are not retained in inventory but can be used to post costs or to invoice services to customers. The examples of nonphysical items:

  • Cost items (for example, electricity)
  • Service items
  • Subcontracting services
  • List items (menus/options)
Ordered Quantity in Inventory Unit

The planned issue quantity expressed in the inventory unit.

The unit of measure in which the inventory of an item is recorded, such as piece, kilogram, box of 12, or meter.

The inventory unit is also used as the base unit in measure conversions, especially for conversions that concern the order unit and the price unit on a purchase order or a sales order. These conversions always use the inventory unit as the base unit. An inventory unit therefore applies to all item types, also to item types that cannot be kept in stock.

Ordered Quantity in Storage Unit

The planned issue quantity expressed in the storage unit.

Order Unit

The unit in which the quantity of goods stored is expressed.

Example

Storage unit: box

Inventory unit: liter

Maximum Quantity Tolerance

The greatest positive deviation from the ordered quantity that is tolerated to be shipped, expressed as a percentage.

The value in this field is taken from the Maximum Quantity Tolerance field in the Warehousing Orders (whinh2100m000) session.

The Hard Stop on Quantity field in the Outbound Order Lines (whinh2120m000) session indicates which action LN carries out if the tolerance is exceeded.

Creation Date

The date on which the planned shipment requirement is created.

Planned Shipment Quantity

The quantity for which to create a projected shipment, expressed in the order unit. The total quantity of the projected shipments created for the current outbound order line cannot exceed the ordered quantity of the outbound order line.
