Create Runtime Data Dictionary (Forms and Menus) (ttadv5214m000)

Use this session to convert the forms and menus, or changes in existing forms and menus, to the run-time data dictionary.

You can use the Multilevel check box for software distribution purposes to ensure that only the latest version of the forms and menus are available. This is instead of all versions in all package VRCs that are available. Define up to which package version the forms and menus must be converted to the run-time data dictionary.

Run this session, for example after changing/translating labels. Note that this session must also be run after changes in software made by the following utilities:

  • Copy Software Components to New Package VRC (ttadv6265m000).
  • Delete Software Components by Package VRC (ttadv6250m000).
  • Import Language-Dependent DEM Software Components (ttadv6231m000).

Package

Specifies the package that contains the forms/menus that are dumped to the run-time data dictionary.

Package

Specifies the package that contains the forms/menus that are dumped to the run-time data dictionary.

Version

Specifies the version of the package that contains the forms/menus that are dumped to the run-time data dictionary.

Release

Specifies the release of the package that contains the forms/menus that are dumped to the run-time data dictionary.

Customer

Specifies the customer extension of the package that contains the forms/menus that are dumped to the run-time data dictionary.

Language

Specifies the code of the language of the forms and menus that are dumped to the run-time data dictionary.

Forms

If this check box is selected, the forms are dumped to the run-time data dictionary.

Forms

Specifies the form that are dumped to the run-time data dictionary.

Dump

One source of a form or menu can exist in more than one package VRC. For example, the form tf acp1100m0001 can exist in the package VRCs tf B61 a, tf B61U a stnd, and in tf B61O a cus1. The package VRCs B61U a stnd, and in B61O a cus1 are derived from B61 a.

You can have a form dump generated from a form of a previous VRC, because labels or messages used on that form can change in the derived from VRC.

You can have a menu dump generated from a menu of a previous VRC, because labels or session descriptions used on that menu can change in the derived VRC.

Example

Form tf acp1100m0001 VRC B61 a has a label tfacp000.xxxx that has been changed in B61U a stnd. The change to this label only becomes visible after dumping the form to a B61U a stnd form dump.

Explanation of possible options:

OptionDescription
Only forms/menus in VRCDumps the forms and menus of the specified VRC to the same VRC.

Example:

You specify to dump the forms of package tf, B61O, a, cus1: only the forms in that VRC are dumped to dumps in the same VRC.

New labels/messages

Dumps the following forms and menus:

  • Forms and menus in the selected VRC.
  • Forms and menus of previous VRCs, which contain labels and/or messages that have been changed in the selected VRC. See the following example.

Example:

You specify to dump the forms of package tf, B61O, a, cus1: The forms of previous VRCs are also dumped to dumps of tf, B61O, a, cus1, when labels or messages are changed in this VRC.

All forms/menusDumps all forms/menus of previous package VRCs, even if the labels or messages are not changed. Use this option to increase the performance of Tools: All forms/menus are present on the first level, so the bshell will always find the form/menu dump immediately.

You must use the second option.

Multi level

If this check box is selected, the menus and forms are dumped to the run-time data dictionary, up to the level of the package VRC that is specified in the VRC Depth field.

Example

Assume that the current package VRC is B61a4. The package VRC defined in the VRC depth is B61a2. The forms and menus are dumped up to that level. If the forms and menus do not exist in that range, they are not dumped to the run-time data dictionary.

This check box can only be selected if the specified package VRCs are identical.

This option is only used for software distribution purposes, to ensure that only the latest versions of the menus and forms are available.

VRC Depth

Specifies the code of the package up to which the forms and menus have to be dumped to the run-time data dictionary.

VRC Depth

Specifies the release code of the package up to which the forms and menus have to be dumped to the run-time data dictionary.

VRC Depth

Specifies the customization code of the package up to which the forms and menus have to be dumped to the run-time data dictionary.

Print Errors

If this check box is selected, the errors that occur during the conversion to the run-time data dictionary are printed.
