Sessions (ttadv2100s000)

Use this session to generate and maintain sessions.

When you insert a new session (before your first save of a record):

  • You can select the Generate Script check box. This will generate a program script for the session when you save the record.
  • You can specify the session's standard command set in the St. Command Set field.

On your first save of a new session the session is generated.

When you maintain an existing session (after your first save of a record:)

  • The Generate Script check box is removed from the form. To create a program script for your session after the first save, you must manually create a program script in the Program Scripts / Libraries (ttadv2530m000) session, and link it to your session by entering the code in the Program Script field.
  • The St. Command Set field is removed from the Sessions (ttadv2100s000) details session's form. To reselect your session's standard command set, you must use the Sessions (ttadv2500m000) overview session. Select the session in the grid and, on the appropriate menu, select Standard Commands. The Standard Commands (ttadv3110s000) sessions starts, in which you select the St. Command Set option. The Standard Command Sets (ttadv3520m000) session starts, from which you can select a new standard command set for your session.
Note

You can only change a session's data if you check out the session. You perform the checkout through the appropriate menu of the Sessions (ttadv2500m000) overview session.

 

Package

The code of the session's package.

VRC

The version code of the session's VRC.

Standard Script

The session's standard script type.

Note

If you specify a standard script, you cannot specify a program script.

Generate Script

If this check box is selected, when you first save a record a session and a program script for the session is generated.

If this check box is cleared, when you first save a record the session is generated but a program script for the session is not generated.

Note
  • You can only maintain this field when you select No in the Standard Script field.
  • You define the code of the generated program script in the Program Script field.
  • The contents of the generated script depends on the settings you select in this session. You can view and maintain the generated program script in the Program Scripts / Libraries (ttadv2530m000) session.
  • After the first save of a new record this checkbox is removed from the form. To create a program script after your first save, you must manually create a program script in the Program Scripts / Libraries (ttadv2530m000) session, and link it to your session by entering the code in the Program Script field.
Program Script

The program script's package code.

Program Script

The module code of the session's program script.

Note

You can only maintain this field when you select No in the Standard Script field.

Program Script

The program script's code. The package code, module code and program script code identifies the program script that belongs to the session.

Main Table

The package code of the session's main table.

Main Table

The module code of the session's main table.

Main Table

The table number of the session's main table. The combination of the package code, the module code, and the table number identifies a table.

Start Command Type

The session's Start Command type.

Allowed values:

The command carried out when a user starts the session.

Note

You can only maintain this field when you select Specific Start Command in the Start Command Type field.

Session Status

The development status of the session.

Allowed values:

Status session

Dynamic Session

If this check box is selected, the session is dynamic. You can only create dynamic sessions.

Integrated

If this check box is selected, the session is an integrated session. You can only create integrated sessions.

Session Type

Specifies the session's type.

Allowed values:

Window Type

Specifies the session's window type.

Allowed values:

Main Session

If this check box is selected, the session is a main session and can be placed in a browser menu.

If this check box is cleared, the session is a subsession and cannot be placed in a browser menu. Users can only start the session through an overview session, or by a specific form command.

Synchronized Dialog

The code of an overview session's details session. The details session starts when a user double clicks a record in the overview session.

Expired

If this check box is selected, the session is expired and cannot be used in the package VRC or any of the package VRC's derivatives.

Reports in several languages

If this check box is selected, you can print the session's reports in languages other than the run-time language.

Note
  • Dependent on software delivery (see the Import- / Export functions module). You can only print reports in the languages you select in the Languages to Deliver by Language (ttiex0101m000) session.
  • You can manage multilingual report printing in the session's program script.
User

The user who created the session.

Date

The date the user created the session.

Note

You can print a range of sessions selected by their creation date.

If this check box is selected, a technical documentation description of the session is available.

Release Notes

If this check box is selected, a release note description of the session is available.

Workflow Enabled

You must use this field to specify if the session can run in a Workflow environment. You can select one of the following values from the list. Only three values of the list has a meaning, see this table:

Web UI Enabled

You must select this check box, if you can run the session successfully in a Web UI environment.

Horizontal

If this check box is selected, the properties of each record in an overview session display horizontally (in rows) across the grid. Example:

If this check box is cleared, the properties of each record in an overview session display vertically (in columns) down the grid. Example:

Occurrences

The number of records displayed in the grid when a user starts the Overview session.

Note
  • If you enter 1 (one) in this field, the number of records displayed in the grid is determined by the session's default window size.
  • If a user has the Remember the user's settings check box selected in the User Data (ttaad2500m000) session, the number of records displayed in the grid is dependent on the user's last selected window size for the session.
Dynamic index switching

Select the session's dynamic index switching options. Allowed values:

No- When a user chooses a new index, the view fields and session layout does not change.

Restart when view fields differ- When a user chooses a new index that alters the view fields above the the session's grid, the session restarts.

Always restart- When a user chooses any new index by which to view the session, the session restarts.

Show name of index

If this check box is selected, for overview sessions with dynamic index switching implemented, the current index displays in the session's title bar.

St. Command Set

Select a standard command set for your session.

Note

On your first save of a record, the session is generated. After your first save of a record:

  • This field is removed from the form.
  • To reselect your session's standard command set, in the Sessions (ttadv2500m000) overview session, select your session in the grid and, on the appropriate menu, select Standard Commands. The Standard Commands (ttadv3110s000) sessions starts, in which you select the St. Command Set option. The Standard Command Sets (ttadv3520m000) session starts, from which you can select a new standard command set for your session.
Command Type

Select the command type of the session's default button.

Command as Default Button

Default Button

Select a command for the session's default command button. The default command button is the command LN carries out when a user presses the ENTER key whilst using the session. The default command button is always the first button in the list of command buttons included on a session's form.

Note

If in the Command Type field you selected:

  • Standard Command, in this field you select the session's default button from the Standard Commands (ttadv3110s000) session.
  • Form Command, in this field you select the session's default button from the Form Commands (ttadv3518m000) session.
Label of Object

You can specify a label code in this field. If the session belongs to a multi-main table (MMT) session, then the label is visible at runtime on the toolbar and menus of the session.

Example

The Indices (ttadv4521m000) session, which is a satellite of the Table Definitions (ttadv4520m100) MMT session, has this label of object:

The toolbar on the Indices tab in the Table Definitions (ttadv4520m100) MMT session includes, among others, these commands:

  • New Index
  • Duplicate Index
  • Delete Index
  • Search Index
Personalization prohibited

If this check box is selected, the customize form functionality in a details session and the customize visibility, ordering and width of columns functionality in an overview session is disabled if the session is started from Web UI.
