Impact of multisite on preventive maintenance scenarios and planned activities

When the multisite functionality is implemented:

  • You can specify the default Location Site, Repair Site or both, based on the value the Scenario Use field is set to, in the Preventive Maintenance Scenarios (tsspc1130m000) session.
  • A Site can be specified for a planned activity in the Planned Activities (tsspc2100m000) session.
Impact on preventive maintenance scenarios

In the Preventive Maintenance Scenarios (tsspc1130m000) session, you can set the Scenario Use field to indicate the type of planned activities that must be generated. Possible values:

  • Field Service

    If the Scenario Use field is set to Field Service:

    • You can specify the Location Site. This site is defaulted on the related planned activities.
    • The Activity Use field in the Planned Activities (tsspc2100m000) session is also set to Field Service.
    • The site specified in the Planned Activities (tsspc2100m000) is defaulted on the service order to which the planned activity is transferred.
  • Depot Repair

    If the Scenario Use field is set to Depot Repair:

    • You must specify the Repair Site. This site is defaulted on the related planned activities.
    • The Activity Use field in the Planned Activities (tsspc2100m000) session is also set to Depot Repair.
    • The site specified in the Planned Activities (tsspc2100m000) is defaulted on the part maintenance line or the work order to which the planned activity is transferred.
  • General

    If the Scenario Use field is set to General:

    • You can specify the Location Site and the Repair Site. This site is defaulted on the related planned activities.
    • The Activity Use field in the Planned Activities (tsspc2100m000) session is also set to Depot Repair.
    • The site specified in the Planned Activities (tsspc2100m000) is defaulted on the part maintenance line or the work order to which the planned activity is transferred.

Infor LN determines the reference activities and master routings that can be linked to the related maintenance scenario lines or trigger sets. If the Scenario Use field is set to Field Service for a maintenance scenario, a reference activity/master routing with the Activity Use field set to Field Service or General can be linked to the related maintenance scenario lines or trigger sets. Similarly, if the Scenario Use field is set to Depot Repair for a maintenance scenario, a reference activity/master routing with the Activity Use field set to Depot Repair or General can be linked.

Impact on planned activities

If the planned activity is created manually or generated from a call, the site is defaulted based on the value set in the Activity Use field. Infor LN uses this search path to default the Site for the planned activity:

  1. The site specified for the Serial Number in the Serialized Items (tscfg2100m000) session. Possible scenarios:
    • The Location Site is defaulted if the Activity Use field is set to Field Service.
    • The Repair Site is defaulted, if the Activity Use field is set to Depot Repair.
  2. The site specified for the Installation Group in the Installation Groups (tsbsc1100m000) session. Possible scenarios:
    • The Location Site is defaulted, if the Activity Use field is set to Field Service.
    • The Repair Site is defaulted, if the Activity Use field is set to Depot Repair.
  3. The Repair Site specified for the Subcontractor in the Items - Service Business Partner (tsmdm2130m000) session.
  4. The Repair Site specified for the Item in the Items - Service (tsmdm2100m000)
  5. The site specified for the Department in the Service Offices (tsmdm1100m000) session. Possible scenarios:
    • The Site is defaulted, if the Activity Use field is set to Field Service.
    • The Repair Site is defaulted, if the Activity Use field is set to Depot Repair.

If the planned activity is generated from a maintenance scenario line, the Site and the Activity Use for the planned activity are defaulted from the Preventive Maintenance Scenarios (tsspc1130m000) session, based on the value set in the Scenario Use field. If the Scenario Use field is set to:

  • Field Service, the Location Site specified for the maintenance scenario is defaulted for the planned activity.
  • Depot Repair, the Repair Site specified for the maintenance scenario is defaulted for the planned activity.
  • General, no value is defaulted.
