Rechecking inventory

For a sales order line, the Order Promising Status field is set to Accepted when sufficient inventory is available and you can process the sales order line. The demand, supply order or the current inventory level can change after the Order Promising Status field is set to Accepted. Therefore, the inventory recheck must be performed.

For the sales order lines with the Order Promising Status field set to Accepted, Infor LN performs the recheck for the sales order lines only if:

  • The Allow Inventory Recheck for Promised Lines check box is selected for the sales order line in the Sales Order Lines (tdsls4101m000) session. And,
  • For the item linked to the sales order line, the Net Change check box is selected in the Items - Sales (tdisa0501m000) session. This check box indicates that the inventory recheck executed for the item is inaccurate due to the change in the demand, supply order or the current inventory level.
Check Inventory Sales Orders session

The Check Inventory Sales Orders (tdsls4217m000) session is used to recheck the current inventory for the sales order lines with the Order Promising Status field set to a value other than Accepted. This session also allows you to recheck the inventory for the sales order lines with the Order Promising Status field set to Accepted if the Allow Inventory Recheck for Promised Lines check box is selected in the Sales Order Lines (tdsls4101m000) session. You can specify these values in this session:

  • Include Promised Lines

If this check box is selected, the inventory recheck is executed for the sales order lines. Infor LN considers only these sales order lines:

    • The Net Change check box is selected in the Items - Sales (tdisa0501m000) session for the item linked to the sales order line.
    • The status of the inventory shortage line is set to Accepted.
  • Recheck Promised Lines as of Date

The date and time when the inventory recheck is executed. This value is applicable only if the Use Customer Requested Delivery Date check box is cleared in the Sales Order Parameters (tdsls0100s400) session. If this check box is selected, the Customer Requested Delivery Date specified for the sales order line is considered to recheck the inventory.

This field is enabled only if the Include Promised Lines check box is selected.

  • Sort Lines By

The order in which the inventory recheck must be executed for the sales order lines. The possible values are:

    • Ordered Date
    • Planned Delivery Date
    • Customer Requested Delivery Date (if implemented)
  • Exclude Advised Outbound Lines

If this check box is selected, the sales order lines or the sales order components, for which the advised outbound order exists, are excluded from the inventory recheck.

This check box is enabled only if the Include Promised Lines check box is selected.

  • Simulate

If this check box is selected, a report is generated after the inventory recheck is executed to display the updates. The data is not updated in the database.

The sales order lines are not included during the inventory recheck if:

  • Inventory recheck is not applicable to sales order line. For example, if the purchase order is generated from a sales order line and the Delivery Type of the line is set to Purchase.
  • The Allow Inventory Recheck for Promised Lines check box is cleared for a sales order line.
  • The sales order line processing has reached a stage where the Planned Delivery Date cannot be modified.
