Manufacturer Part Numbers (tdipu0145m000)

Use this session to view, enter, and maintain manufacturers by manufacturer part number (MPN).

Note
  • If the Multiple Items per MPN check box is cleared in the Procurement Parameters (tdpur0100m000) session, you can also use this session to link an item to an MPN. If the Multiple Items per MPN check box is selected, you can link items to an MPN in the Items by MPN (tdipu0149m000) session.
  • You can link multiple manufacturers to an MPN.

 

Manufacturer Part Number

The unique identification of a manufacturer's item code, which is used in the item ordering and identification process.

Manufacturer

The manufacturer that is linked to the MPN.

Preferred MPN

If this check box is selected, this is the preferred manufacturer part number (MPN).

This MPN is defaulted from the Preferred Manufacturer Part Number field in the Items - Purchase (tdipu0101m000) and Item - Purchase (tdipu0601m000) sessions.

This field is visible only if the Multiple Items per MPN check box is cleared in the Procurement Parameters (tdpur0100m000) session.

Item

The item that is linked to the MPN and manufacturer.

  • Only Purchased, Manufactured, Product, and Subcontracting items are allowed.
Search Key

An alternative form of a description used for convenience during searching. Typically, it is an abbreviation, an acronym, or a mnemonic alternative to a full description.

Status

The status determines whether you can order MPNs produced by the manufacturer.

Blocking Reason

The reason why you have blocked the MPN for use.

You can only select blocking reasons of the Blocked Manufacturer or Block Manufacturer Part Number type from the Reasons (tcmcs0105m000) session.

Effective Date

The first day on which a record or a setting is valid. The effective date often includes the effective time.

Expiry Date

The date from which a record or a setting is no longer valid. The expiry date often includes the expiry time.

Text

If this check box is selected, a text is present.

Environmental Compliance

Worldwide, various regulations exist to limit the use of hazardous chemical substances in electronic equipment preventing environmental pollution.

Companies, in most cases producers of electronic equipment, are legally required to:

  • Set up and control compliancy rules.
  • Verify whether purchased, engineered, manufactured, and serviced material is compliant.
  • Verify whether their work processes are compliant.

You can link an external application to LN that helps you to limit hazardous material. This field displays whether a specific material or material is compliant to the rules according to the external application that is linked to LN.

Default value

This field is defaulted from the Environmental Compliance field in the Items (tcibd0501m000) session.

Set Preferred MPN in Item Purchase Data

Enters the MPN as the preferred MPN in the Preferred Manufacturer Part Number field of the Items - Purchase (tdipu0101m000) session.

Clear Preferred MPN in Item Purchase Data

Removes the MPN as the preferred MPN from the Preferred Manufacturer Part Number field of the Items - Purchase (tdipu0101m000) session.
