To define languages

You must define the languages to be used by each company in the Languages (tcmcs0146m000) session. For each language you specify:

  • A language code
  • A description (French, Spanish, . . . )
  • The language number of the corresponding system language

You can use the same system language for more than one language that you define.

Example

You have an English LN system and you have installed and set up French as a second system language. LN assigns the language number 4 to French.

To use French for some of your business partners in Canada, in France, and in Switzerland, you can define the following languages:

LanguageDescriptionSystem language
CANCanadian4 (French)
FRNFrench4 (French)
SW2Swiss (Fr)4 (French)

If you acquire a Canadian French version of LN at a later date, you can replace French with Canadian French. Change your definition of Canadian in the Languages (tcmcs0146m000) session and instead of 4, select the language number that LN assigns to Canadian French.
