Item Signals (tcmcs0118m000)

Use this session to maintain item signals.

For each signal you can select a blocking status that will be effective for the item to which you attach the signal. The status that you can select depends on the usage of the item.

To define signals for business partners, use the Signals (tcmcs0139m000) session.

Item Signal

A warning message displayed if you enter or select an item to which a signal is linked. Item signals can also be used to block the issue and/or requisition of items.

Business-partner signal

A warning message displayed if you select a business partner to whom a signal is linked.

Description

The message that LN displays if you use this item in a session.

Planning

Indicates the blocking status ( Warning, Blocked, or No Warning) of the item if the item is used in the Enterprise Planning package.

This item signal is checked in the following sessions:

  • Item Master Plan (cprmp2101m000)
  • Generate Master Planning (cprmp1202m000)
  • Planned Orders (cprrp1100m000)
  • Generate Order Planning (cprrp1210m000)
Purchase

Indicates the blocking status ( Warning, Blocked, or No Warning) of the item if the item is used in the Purchase Control module.

Sales

Indicates the Blocking Status - With Block Order/Line of the item if the item is used in the Sales Control module.

Service

Indicates the Blocking Status - With Block Order/Line of the item if the item is used in Service.

Requisition through Production

Indicates the blocking status ( Warning, Blocked, or No Warning) of the item if the item is used in production orders.

Production Issue

Indicates the blocking status ( Warning, Blocked, or No Warning) of the item for issue from a warehouse to either:

  • A production order.
  • A project in the Project package.

If the status is Warning, the item can be issued for production orders provided that the item is not blocked for requisition through production. When you issue materials from the warehouse to a project in the Requirements Planning module, LN also consults the blocking status.

If the item is Blocked for issue for production then you cannot enter it in:

  • The Material to Issue for Production Orders (ticst0101m100) session.
  • The Initiate Inventory Issue (tisfc0207m000) session.

In this case LN will also refuse to issue materials in the Approve Planned PRP Warehouse Orders (tppss6225m000) session and the Transfer Planned PRP Warehouse Orders (tppss6235m000) session.

Adjustments

Indicates the blocking status ( Warning, Blocked, or No Warning) of the item if the item is used in adjustment orders.

Cycle Counting

Indicates the blocking status ( Warning, Blocked, or No Warning) of the item if the item is used in cycle count orders.

Receipt Correction

Indicates the blocking status ( Warning, Blocked, or No Warning) of the item if the item is used in receipt corrections.

If the status is Blocked, users cannot create receipt corrections in the following sessions:

  • Warehouse Receipt (whinh3512m000)
  • Handling Units (whwmd5130m000)
Ownership Change

Indicates the blocking status ( Warning, Blocked, or No Warning) of the item. Items with an item signal can be blocked for ownership changes.

Allocation Change

Indicates the blocking status ( Warning, Blocked, or No Warning) of the item. Items with an item signal can be blocked for allocation changes.

Miscellaneous

Indicates the blocking status ( Warning, or No Warning) of the item if the item is used for purposes other than the context-related usages defined in this session.
