Distribution Lead-time Calculation

Enterprise Planning generates distribution orders based on the details that you define for the relation between the supplying company and the receiving company in the Supplying Relationships (cprpd7130m000) session. Dependent on whether or not you define a carrier for a specific relationship, Enterprise Planning performs distribution lead-time planning based on transport time or on the fixed supply lead time.

General procedure

Regardless of whether or not you specify a carrier, Enterprise Planning always first computes the finish date of the order with the following lead-time components:

Distribution lead time: using distance tables

[...]
TrtTransport time (based on distance tables)
ILTInbound lead time (from the Item Data by Warehouse (whwmd2110s000) session)
O/S/EOutbound lead time / Safety time / Extra lead time
AStart date
BFinish date
CRequirement date

If no distance table is found, the resulting supply lead time is zero.

Note

This method causes a considerable performance load on your computer system.

Lead-time planning based on supply lead-time

If you did not specify a carrier in the Supplying Relationships (cprpd7130m000) session, LN calculates the order start date with the supply lead time that you defined in that same session.

LN plans the supply lead time using the calendar linked to the supply resource specified in the Supplying Relationships (cprpd7130m000) session. If you did not specify a supply resource, Common uses the calendar of the item's enterprise unit.
