Formats of dates and times

The date format and time formats are determined by the following:

  • The regional date and time settings in the Window Control Panel. Here you specify the date and time notations.
  • The date format defined in the Date Formats (ttadv4580m000) session. Here you specify, for example, whether you use week numbers and month numbers.
  • The time format defined in the Time Formats (ttadv4586m000) session. Here you specify, for example, whether you use a 12 hour format or a 24 hour format.

The following rules apply:

  • The date and time notations in the Window Control Panel are used to display dates and times. The separators for dates and times that you selected in Tools are not used.
  • If day names and month names instead of numbers are specified for the LN date format, dates are displayed according to the Long Date as set up in the regional date and time settings of the Window Control Panel.
  • If a LN format is used that includes week numbers, a default format (without week numbers) is used instead, because the Windows date formats do not support week numbers.
  • If a LN format is used that includes day numbers in weeks or in years, the day numbers are converted to day numbers in months.
