The code of the warehouse where the location is situated.
Warehouse - Location - Capacity (whwmd3101s000)Use this session to define, view, or change the location-capacity data for locations of type Bulk, Pick, and Inspection. After you specify the location-capacity data, the Infinite Capacity field in the Warehouse - Locations (whwmd3500m000) session is cleared. Note To work with capacity data, you must accurately enter the item's dimensions and weight in the following sessions:
If handling units are used for which packaging items have been defined, the dimensions of the packaging items of the handling units are used to calculate the available capacities of the locations.
Warehouse The code of the warehouse where the location is situated. Location The code of an inventory location within a warehouse. Units If this check box is selected, capacity data is calculated for this location. Enter the total capacity. LN will calculate the following data:
If this check box is cleared, the capacity calculation does not apply to this location. You cannot enter a maximum capacity, and LN will not calculate the capacity data. Weight If this check box is selected, weight capacity data is calculated for this location. Enter the Maximum field. LN will also check the location's weight capacity when generating inbound advice. LN will calculate the following data:
If this check box is cleared, the weight capacity calculation does not apply to this location. You cannot enter a maximum weight, and LN will not calculate the weight capacity data. Floor Space If this check box is selected, LN will check the floor space. To check the floor space, LN calculates the following floor-space data:
If this check box is cleared, floor-space capacity calculation does not apply for this location. LN will not calculate the floor-space data. Note The total location floor-space capacity can be so large that the floor-space capacity will never become critical. In such a case, it is not necessary to maintain the floor-space capacity. Volume If this check box is selected, LN will check the volume capacity. To check the volume capacity, LN calculates the following volume data:
If this check box is cleared, volume capacity calculation does not apply for this location. LN will not calculate the volume data. Note The total location volume capacity can be so large that the volume capacity will never become critical. In such a case, you do not need to maintain the volume capacity. Dimensions Length The length of the location. Unit The unit in which the length of the location is measured. This unit is defined in the Warehouse Master Data Parameters (whwmd0100s000) session. Width The width of the location expressed in the location unit of length. Height The height of the location expressed in the location unit of length. Maximum The total capacity of the location expressed in the capacity unit. If the Infinite Capacity check box for the location is selected, this field will automatically be filled with a 0. Available The available capacity within the location, calculated as follows: available capacity = total capacity - actual occupation Note The current field is updated by LN and cannot be changed. The available capacity is expressed in the capacity unit. Unit The unit in which the location's capacity is registered. This unit will usually relate to the physical quantity area, volume, or weight. If the location's capacity unit is not equal to the inventory unit of the items stored at that location, it must be defined as an alternative unit for the item in the Conversion Factors (tcibd0103m000) session. As a result, you can convert the item's inventory unit to the capacity unit. Floor Space Maximum The location's total floor-space capacity expressed in the location length-unit of measure. The value of this field is calculated by multiplying the value of the Width field and the Length field. Available The available floor space in the location. available floor space = floor space capacity - floor space occupation Note This field is updated by LN and cannot be changed. The available floor space is expressed in the location length unit of measure defined in the Warehouse Master Data Parameters (whwmd0100s000) session. Unit The unit used to express the floor space of the container. This value is defaulted from the Derived Area Unit defined in the Unit Dimensional Relationships (tcmcs1101m000) session. Weight Maximum The location's maximum weight capacity. This maximum is expressed in the location weight unit of measure defined in the Warehouse Master Data Parameters (whwmd0100s000) session. Default value If the Weight check box is selected for the location, this field is automatically filled with a 0. Available The available weight capacity, calculated as follows: available weight = total weight capacity - weight occupation Unit The unit in which the weight is expressed. Volume Maximum The total volume capacity of a location expressed in the location length unit of measure. The value of this field is calculated by multiplying the values of the following fields:
Available The available volume in the location. available volume = total volume capacity - actual volume occupation Note This field is updated by LN and cannot be changed. The available volume is expressed in the location length unit of measure defined in the Warehouse Master Data Parameters (whwmd0100s000) session. Unit The unit used to express the volume of the container. This value is defaulted from the Derived Volume Unit defined in the Unit Dimensional Relationships (tcmcs1101m000) session. Expected Occupation Increase The location's expected increase in occupation capacity according to the inbound advice. If producing inbound advice in the Generate Inbound Advice (whinh3201m000) session, LN recommends locations at which you can store incoming items. When inbound advice assigns items to a location, LN updates this field. Note If the Infinite Capacity check box is cleared, this field is updated. Expected Occupation Decrease The quantity, weight, floor space and/or volume by which the location’s occupation is expected to be decreased based on the outbound advice generated for the location. The expected occupation decreases when outbound advice is generated. The actual occupation decreases when the outbound advice is released or the picking list is confirmed. LN uses the expected decrease to determine the available storage capacity when generating inbound advice. However, this is overruled for individual warehouses if the Ignore Expected Decrease of Location Occupation check box is selected in the Warehouses (whwmd2500m000) session. When generating outbound advice, LN determines the locations from which the items are to be issued for production and sales. Outbound is generated automatically in the Process Outbound Advice (whinh4200m000) session. Note If the Infinite Capacity check box is cleared, this field is updated. Expected Occupation Increase The part of the location's floor-space capacity that will be used according to the inbound advice. When producing inbound advice in the Generate Inbound Advice (whinh3201m000) session, LN recommends the locations at which you can store incoming items. If inbound advice assigns a location, LN updates this field. Note If the Floor Space check box is selected, this field will be updated. Expected Occupation Decrease The floor-space by which the location’s capacity is expected to be decreased based on the outbound advice generated for the location. When outbound advice is generated, the expected occupation decrease increases, and it decreases when outbound advice is released or the picking list is confirmed, if picking lists apply. LN uses the expected decrease to determine the available storage capacity when generating inbound advice. However, this is overruled for individual warehouses if the Ignore Expected Decrease of Location Occupation check box is selected in the Warehouses (whwmd2500m000) session. While generating outbound advice in the Process Outbound Advice (whinh4200m000) session, LN determines the locations from which the items for production and sales will be issued. Note If the Floor Space check box is selected, this field will be updated. Expected Occupation Increase The part of the location's weight capacity that will be used according to the inbound advice. When producing inbound advice in the Generate Inbound Advice (whinh3201m000) session, LN recommends the locations at which you can store incoming items. When inbound advice assigns a location, LN updates this field. Note If the Weight check box is selected, this field is updated. Expected Occupation Decrease The weight by which the location’s capacity is expected to be decreased based on the outbound advice generated for the location. While generating outbound advice in the Process Outbound Advice (whinh4200m000) session, LN determines the locations from which you can retrieve the items to be issued to production and sales. Note If the Weight check box is selected, this field is updated. Expected Occupation Increase The location's volume capacity that will be used according to inbound advice. When producing inbound advice in the Generate Inbound Advice (whinh3201m000) session, LN recommends the locations at which you can store incoming items. If inbound advice assigns a location, LN updates this field. Note If the Volume check box is selected, this field will be updated. Expected Occupation Decrease The volume by which the location’s capacity is expected to be decreased based on the outbound advice generated for the location. While generating outbound advice in the Generate Outbound Advice (whinh4201m000) session, LN determines the locations from which the items for production and sales will be issued. Note If the Volume check box is selected, this field will be updated. Warning at The maximum allowed capacity-occupation percentage. This percentage is used:
LN calculates the capacity occupation percentage as follows: Capacity occupation = (Total capacity - Available capacity) / Total capacity x 100 Block If this check box is selected, no inbound advice is given for the location when the calculated available capacity is negative. If this check box is cleared, you can put more items in this location than is possible according to the capacity data if you manually create inbound advice. When inbound advice is generated, LN never advises quantities in excess of the available capacity. If the Infinite Capacity check box in the Warehouse - Location (whwmd3100s000) session is selected, the current check box is not available.
Recalculate Starts the Recalculate Occupation of Location (whwmd3201m000) session in which you can recalculate the location's available capacity.
