Integration with Fulfillment PlanningIf LN is integrated with the Fulfillment Planning functionality of the Inventory Control Services module (ICS), this functionality controls outbound advice for selected warehouses and items to manage fulfillment of demand orders. Fulfillment planning is to be used for valuable items, but would cause unnecessary overhead for inexpensive items or inventory in shop floor warehouses, the latter being exclusively allocated to production orders. To manage demand order fulfillment, ICS is notified of the demand orders and the available inventory from LN through BODs. The basis of communication between LN and ICS is Infor ION, an enterprise messaging system for integrating Infor applications with each other and with outside applications. Infor ION exchanges documents or messages, such as sales orders (SOs) and shipments, using the standard Open Applications Group Integration Specification (OAGIS) BOD message format. To set up Fulfillment planning:
The settings in the Items - Warehousing (whwmd4500m000) and Warehouses (whwmd2500m000) sessions set the default value for the Use Fulfillment Plan check box in the Item Data by Warehouse (whwmd2510m000) session. If selected, outbound advice for the selected warehouse and item must match the fulfillment plan from ICS. If no fulfillment plan is present, outbound advice cannot be created. The Use Fulfillment Plan check box in the Item Data by Warehouse (whwmd2510m000) session is selected by default if, in the Warehouses (whwmd2500m000) and the Items - Warehousing (whwmd4500m000) session, the Use Fulfillment Plan check box is selected. If the Use Fulfillment Plan check box is cleared in the Warehouses (whwmd2500m000) session, you cannot toggle this check box in the current session.
