Impact of FRACAS in Service

Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) is a process that is used to identify a failure related to a service item. This process also allows you to control and resolve the reported failures. A FRACAS document contains the details of the failure such as:

  • The code of the item for which the failure is reported
  • The category of the failure
  • The instrument used to identify the failure
  • The repair activity performed
  • The result of the repair activity

You can use the FRACAS functionality only if the Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) check box is selected in the Quality Management Parameters (qmptc0100m000) session.

In Service, you can link or create a FRACAS document for these service objects, when a failure is identified for the main item or for a component of the item, during servicing:

  • Calls
  • Service Orders
  • Service Order Activities
  • Part Maintenance Lines
  • Work Orders
  • Work Order Batch Repair Serials (can only link FRACAS document)
  • Work Order Activities
  • Work Order Outgoing Subassembly
Creating FRACAS Document

Infor LN allows you to create Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) documents for service objects, using the Create FRACAS Document option on the Action menu. The Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System Header (qmpqm2600m100) session is invoked, wherein you can create the document for the service object.

Note

This option is enabled only if:

  • The specified item is of the Type:
    • Generic
    • Product
    • Subcontracted Service
    • Cost
    • Service
  • A Non-Conformance Report does not exist for the service object.

To create a FRACAS document for a:

  • Service Order, the status of the service order must be set to Released in the Service Orders (tssoc2100m000) session and the related actual costs must be available for the service order.
  • Service Order Activity, the status of the service order activity must be set to Released in the Service Order Activities (tssoc2110m000) session and the related actual costs must be available for the service order activity.
  • Call, the status of the call must be set to Transferred or Solved in the Call (tsclm1100m000) session.
  • Part Line, the status of the part line must be set to Completed in the Maintenance Sales Order - Part Lines (tsmsc1110m000) session.
  • Work Order, the status of the work order must be set to Released in the Work Orders (tswcs2100m000) session.
  • Work Order Activity, the status of the work order activity must be set to Released in the Work Order Activities (tswcs2110m000) session.
  • Work Order Outgoing Subassembly, the Action Outgoing Subassembly must be set to To Location for Work or To Department in the Work Order Outgoing Subassemblies (tswcs4150m000) session.
Linking FRACAS Document

Infor LN allows you to link FRACAS documents to service objects, using the Link FRACAS Document option on the Action menu. The Failure Documents (qmpqm2100m000) session is invoked, wherein you can select the FRACAS document to be linked to the service object.

Note
  • When linking an existing FRACAS document, the documents are displayed based on the item and the serial number specified for the service object.
  • You can link more than one FRACAS document to a service object.
Unlinking FRACAS Document

You can use the Unlink FRACAS Document option on the Action menu to unlink the FRACAS documents. The Related Orders - Non-Conformance Reports (tsmdm4500m100) session is invoked, wherein you can select the report to be unlinked.

Note

This option is enabled only if a FRACAS document is linked to the service object using the Link FRACAS Document option.

Linking Disposition to FRACAS Document

You can use the Link Disposition to FRACAS Document option for these service objects to link a disposition order (Service) directly to the FRACAS document:

  • Maintenance Sales Order Part Maintenance Line
  • Service Order Activity
  • Work Order Activity

If a service object is linked as a disposition order, you can use the Disposition Order (FRACAS) option to view the related FRACAS document in the Failure and Action Details (qmpqm2501m000) session. If the FRACAS document is moved to history, the Failure and Action Details History (qmpqm2551m000) session is displayed.
