| To use purchase budgetsA typical actual budget
contains cost objects with long
purchase periods. Also, the quantities to be purchased can be uncertain. To
wait until such information is available can delay the project and prove
costly. Using the Purchase Budget sessions, you can procure such cost objects
before project execution starts. You can create a purchase budget by entering
cost objects directly, or by copying them from the actual budget. You can
purchase part quantities by specifying a percentage of the budgeted value. The
purchase budget is used by the Project Requirements module to generate purchase
orders. The purchase budget does not affect the actual budget. It is used
simply to bypass the step-by-step process of project budgeting and execution. The main purchase budget sessions are: - Purchase Budget (tpptc4100s000) Use this session to create a purchase budget in which
you can later record the cost objects that you require.
- Purchase Budget Part (tpptc4110s000) Use this session to copy to a purchase budget the
required elements or activity,activities (and
their associated cost objects) from the
actual budget.
- Purchase-Budget Detail Line (tpptc4120s000) Use this session to record the supplier,
purchase price and status data for the cost objects in a selected purchase
budget. This data is only for cost types material, equipment and
subcontracting. Approved lines can be transferred to procurement.
- Generate Purchase Budgets (tpptc4200m000) Use this session instead of Purchase-Budget Detail Line (tpptc4120s000) to generate directly a purchase budget for
a selected range of projects, elements or activities.
- Delete Purchase Budgets (tpptc4210m000) Use this session to delete the data that you
no longer require from a purchase budget.
