Estimated Tool Requirements (titrp0111m000)Use this session to modify the estimated tool requirements for production orders, production schedules, and to list tool requirements for service orders, and work orders. Tool requirements include data about the tool, and the number of hours or times that it is required to perform an operation, or activity. Tool requirements do not specify the work center where the tool is used. You can maintain tools that are estimated to be issued, or tools that are planned for the job shop or the service center. The estimated tool requirements for service orders or work orders are only displayed. The availability planning for actual orders is generated by means of the Availability Planning (titrp0513m000) session, after the orders have been entered in this session. Note You can only modify production orders. For more information on modifying order types, refer to the field Help of Order Type. Specific menu The estimated tool requirements can be returned to the next requirement, to a warehouse, work center, or another order by using the Request and Return Tools (titrp0215m000) session. This session is started by clicking Request and Return Tools from the appropriate menu. Click Tool Requests from the specific menu to start the Tool Requests (titrp0515m000) session. In this session you can view whether a tool is available at the work center or the service center. Note There can only be one estimated tool requirement present for a refurbishing order. For a refurbishing order, the Line field is always filled.
Order Type Select the type of order for which you want to plan tool availability. If a production order status is Scheduled, you cannot alter its tool requirements. Note
Allowed values Order Number Select the order for which you want to plan tool availability. Note
Line The line number for which the tool is issued. Note This field is only applies to service and work orders. Activity One of a series of steps in a routing that are carried out successively to produce an item. The following data is collected during a routing operation:
This data is used to compute order lead times, to plan production orders and to calculate standard cost. Note Only applies to production orders. Step A suboperation connected to a routing operation. An operation step can contain information such as, instructions, process information, and tools information. Sequence Number The number that identifies a data record or a step in a sequence of activities. Sequence numbers are used in many contexts. Usually LN generates the sequence number for the next item or step. Depending on the context, you can overwrite this number. Tool The tool type is the first level that is used to identify the tool in the coding system for tools. Some examples of tool types are:
Hammer 1, screwdriver 2 and wheelbarrow 3 are examples of tool types in combination with a tool serial number, and represent unique tools. Tool types are defined in the Tools (titrp0101m000) session. Tool Number A number to identify a tool. The combination of a tool type, for example, hammer, and a tool serial number, for example, 1, results in a unique identification of a tool in LN. The tool serial number is defined in the Tool Numbers (titrp0102m000) session. Use in Tool Planning If this check box is selected, the tool is used for planning purposes, as well as printed on the production order documents for instruction purposes. If this check box is cleared, the tool is only printed by operation on the production order documents, and not used for tool planning purposes. Tool's Life Based On The tool's life can be based on the number of times the tool can be used or the number of hours the tool can perform. Tool Usage Amount of the tool's life that will be used during the operation or activity. When reporting operations complete for Production Order and service activities for Service Order, the tool's remaining tool life is reduced by the amount specified in this field. For Production Schedule activities, the amount of tool's life used is calculated at the completion of the schedule line. You can maintain the tool usage field to plan the tool for a longer time, such as for refurbishing reasons. The Tool's Life Based On is expressed in the Number of Times Used or the Number of Hours Used, depending on the default entered in Tool's Life Based On field in the Estimated Tool Requirements (titrp0111m000) session. Tool Requirement Status The status of the estimated tool requirement. Allowed values
Plan Tools The status of the tool is not changed to Available by LN. The Plan Tools option is used when no tool serial number is filled in the Estimated Tool Requirements (titrp0111m000) session. With this option a tool serial number is generated in the session Estimated Tool Requirements (titrp0111m000) session. Process Tools Usage Click to update the following fields in the Tool Numbers (titrp0102m000) session using the tool usage in the Estimated Tool Requirements (titrp0111m000) session:
The tool's usage is set to 0 (zero).
