Tool Numbers (titrp0102m000)Use this session to list, select, and maintain data referring to tools. LN identifies tools by means of a combination of tool type and tool number.
. Tool The ID and description of the tool. Tool Number The tool serial number. . Active If this check box is selected, the selected tool is in use. Tool Used in Job Shop If this check box is selected, the tool is being used for job shop production. Tool used in Repetitive If this check box is selected, the tool is being used in repetitive manufacturing. Tool Used in Maintenance If this check box is selected, this tool can be used by work orders in Work Control System in Service. Tool Used in Service If this check box is selected, the tool can be used by service orders. Planner The employee responsible for the maintenance of this tool type. Buy-from Business Partner The business partner from whom you order goods or services; this usually represents a supplier's sales department. The definition includes the default price and discount agreements, purchase-order defaults, delivery terms, and the related ship-from and invoice-from business partner. Warehouse The warehouse where the tool is stored when it is purchased. Request / Return Tools If this check box is cleared, the tool is used in a specific work center so you do not want to request or return the tool. Note If there are no requirements for the tool in the Estimated Tool Requirements (titrp0111m000) session, you can alter this field in the current (details) session. Usage Life Time remaining Free The number of times the tool can be used before refurbishment. Planned The number of times the tool is planned for future use in a production or service activity. Actual The number of times the tool is used after the last refurbishing of the tool. Refurbishing Point The number of usages after which the tool must be refurbished. In the Refurbish At field, you can enter the number of usages after which the tool must be refurbished. The refurbishing point is based on the number of times or the number of hours the tool is used. Refurbishing Point Unit In this field you can define the unit in which the refurbishing point of the tool is expressed.
Total Free The number of times the tool can be used until it must be discarded. Refurbishing Life The capacity of the tool expressed as the number of hours or times it can be used. Note If the Tool's Life Based On field in the Tools (titrp0101m000) session is Not Applicable, this field is empty. Tool's Life Unit The unit in which the tool's life is expressed. A tool's life can be expressed as the number of times or the number of hours the tool can be used. Note The unit entered in this field must be present in the unit set, which is defined for this tool type in the Unit Sets (tcmcs0106m000) session. Date Refurbished The date on which the tool was last refurbished. The field is updated when the service order for refurbishing of the tool is completed. Number of Times Refurbished This field specifies the total number of times the tool is refurbished. LN updates when the service order for refurbishing a tool is completed. Refurbishing Order The number that is used to store the service order for refurbishing the tool. Service Date The date the tool is ready to be placed into service or into use. Details Supply Tool Signal In this field you can assign a signal code to a tool. A signal code is the code of the message that appears on the screen when a combination of tool type and tool serial number is entered in the following sessions:
Tool Number Life Time Serial Number A number to identify a tool. A lifetime serial number can be, for example, a combination of the functional number and the year of acquisition. Lifetime serial numbers are used to group the components of a multipiece tool. Multipiece tools without a lifetime serial number can have components linked either with or without lifetime serial numbers. Example A multipiece tool X has a life time serial number 1990. One of the following must be true for the tool's components:
Note A multipiece tool is defined in the Tool Components (titrp0506m000) session. You cannot modify this field if the tool is used as either a multipiece tool or as a component in the Tool Components (titrp0506m000) session. Tool's Life Based On A tool's life is a value based on the number of times the tool can be used or the number of hours the tool can perform. You can modify this field if the Tool is not yet entered the Availability Planning (titrp0513m000) session. First Usage Date The date on which the tool was first used. Last Usage Date The date on which the tool was last used. This field is updated when the tool is used. Tool Serial Number Text If this check box is selected, a text is present. Status The status of the tool, which can be New, Available, Blocked, Allocated, or In Refurbishing. You can only change the status of a tool component from Available to Blocked if the status of the other components linked to the multipiece tool is not one of the following:
If the usage status of a tool is Requested, Returned, or Unallocated, the status of the tool can be changed from:
The tool status cannot be changed to Allocated or In Refurbishing. Allowed values Unit Set The unit set that belongs to the tool type you defined in the Items (tcibd0501m000) session. Usage Data Actual Usage Total number of times or hours the tool is used, irrespective of the number of times the tool is refurbished. Note If you close operations of a Production Order and/or service activities of an Service Order, and actual costing took place, this field is updated. Remaining Tool Life (Tool) The tool's remaining life, displayed in the life unit of the tool. The remaining life of the tool is calculated as follows: Life- Actual Usage. Remaining Tool Life(Tool Number) The remaining life of the tool, calculated as the tool life minus the total times the tool is used. The remaining life of the is expressed in the tool's life unit. Generate Warehouse Order If this check box is selected, you can generate a warehouse order for the selected tool.
