Mail Merge by Standard Letter (tdsmi2410m000)Use this session to add business partners (prospects or customers), opportunities, contacts, or activities to a standard letter for mass mailing. The mail merge functionality enables you to print a generic letter with specific business object information merged in. Note You must select a list of adresses for a mail merge from the LN database mail merge.
Business Object The business object (business partners, opportunities, contacts, or activities) to which the mail merge applies. Active Contacts Only If this check box is selected, the mail merge only applies to contacts who are active. Open Activities Only If this check box is selected, the mail merge only applies to activities that are still open. Advanced Selection If this check box is selected, you can enter a selection code to select data from the database or from part of it (if you specify a restricted range in the database). Selection A predefined set of data that must be printed or processed. Such a set is defined by a selection expression (or a selection criterion). You can define an expression in the Text Manager, which is used to retrieve data from the database for maintenance/printing. Log Mailing as Activity If this check box is selected, the mail merge is logged as an activity in the Activities (tccom6100m000) and Mailing (tccom6600m400) sessions. Note The logged activity is a mailing and has the Completed status. Activity Template The activity template based on which mailings are generated in the Activities (tccom6100m000) and Mailing (tccom6600m400) sessions. Note You can use the activity template for selection purposes later on and execute a follow-up. Letter The general memoranda mailed to relations and contacts (whether within the framework of an opportunity or not) that can be printed and composed by using variables. Update Mode Define the update mode.
Report If this check box is selected, a report is printed that displays the results of the mail merge. Selection Text If this check box is selected, a selection text is printed (if present) on the report.
