Create Allocation Buffers (tdsls4813s000)

Use this session to create allocation buffers for manually entered sales order (delivery) lines. The allocation buffer's quantity can be entered for a combination of warehouse, item, effectivity unit, and specification.

This session supports easy allocation buffer entry. If an allocation buffer is already available for for a combination of warehouse, item, effectivity unit, and specification, the quantity that is allocated in the allocation buffer will be raised.

You can start this session by selecting Create Allocation Buffer in the Inventory Shortage Menu (tdsls4830s000) session. The Inventory Shortage Menu (tdsls4830s000) session is atomatically started from the sales order (delivery) line if the total quantity of the allocated inventory and/or hard pegged supply orders is less than the sales order (delivery) line's ordered quantity.

You can also view, enter, and maintain allocation buffers in the Inventory Commitments (whinp2100m000) session.

Note

You can only create allocation buffers if the following applies:

  • The Use Unallocated Inventory check box is selected in the Demand Pegging Terms and Conditions (tctrm1165m000) session.
  • Enough unallocated inventory is available.
