To change an item's default dataYou can change an item's default data by selecting a different item type or item group, or both, for the item. You can do this only if the item is not yet in use. If you change the item type/item group combination of an item, the following message appears: Item type/item group combination has changed. Re-read default item data for the new combination and delete existing sub-entities?
The item's sub-entities consist of the item data that is specific for the LN packages. For example, item sub-entities are the item sales data, the item production data, and the item warehousing data. LN uses the selected check boxes of the Implemented Software Components (tccom0100s000) session to detect whether item sub-entity data can exist. For example, if the Warehousing check box is cleared in the Implemented Software Components (tccom0100s000) session, LN does not delete item warehousing data or create new item warehousing data. Note If inventory of an item exists and you change the item group, for example, to perform standard cost calculation, LN cannot apply the new default values to the item's inventory. The item keeps the default data of the previous item group, such as:
LN does not delete or create item sub-entities for Project items of the types:
If you entered a Subcontracted Service item in the Subcontracting (tppdm0513m000) session or the Project Subcontracting (tppdm6513m000) session of Project, you cannot change the item group in the Items (tcibd0501m000) session. LN deletes the data when you save the changed item type/item group data. If you exit the session and do not save the changed data, LN does not change or delete any item data or item sub-entity data.
