Units

Use units of measure to express and manage physical quantities in LN. In the Units (tcmcs0101m000) session, you can define any unit that you need, for example, meter, kilometer, kilo, box of 12.

All defined units belong to one of these physical quantity types:

  • Weight
  • Piece
  • Length
  • Area (m2)
  • Volume
  • Time
Base units

If LN carries out calculations on a specific unit quantity, the quantity is first converted to a base unit. On company level, a base unit is defined for every dimension (weight, length, etcetera) in the MCS Parameters (tcmcs0500m000) session.

Alternative units

In addition to the base unit, you can define any other unit that you need. For example, if one meter is the base length unit, you can define millimeter, centimeter, decimeter, decameter, hectometer, and kilometer as alternative length units.

Conversion factors

Define conversion factors to indicate the ratio between base units and alternative units.

Linking units to items

Use a unit set to specify which units belong to an item or item group.
