| Work Center TypeWork Center A work center that consists of multiple sub work centers. If you
are using shared work centers, the secondary work center is always
a main work center, even if the primary work center is a sub work
center. Sub Work Center A work center that belongs to a higher-level work
center. Note The distinction between main and sub work centers is used in
capacity reports (histograms), which you can display or print in: - The Master Planning module in Enterprise Planning.
- The Job Shop Control module and the Project Control module in Manufacturing.
In the Capacity Flows field in the People Parameters (bpmdm0100m000) session you can assign capacity flows to the main work center or the sub work
center. Work centers are grouped (main work centers) to review the
aggregated capacity. Subcontracting If an operation must be subcontracted, a subcontracting work
center must be defined. You cannot link operation-rate codes for this
work-center type. However, you can record planning data by subcontracting work
center, irrespective of the selected critical capacity type. If a work center
is of the Subcontracting type, you cannot change the
work-center type. Costing Buffer An assembly line work station where no operations are carried
out, but orders wait pending transfer to the next work station. Line Station A work center that is part of an assembly line. A line station
is used in the production of final assembly schedule items. Note A line station can have several positions, which enables
multiple items to be present in one line station. Work Cell
