Installation and update overview Whether you are installing new or an update to the currently installed version, a full installation of Quality Statistical Process Control is required. Update the existing version: When you install the updates, the existing version is overwritten. To update the existing version, the following must be executed:
BI Installation This release also includes an update to BI tools to 10.4.1 and also Base data store to 10.3.4. Step 1. On the system where the Infor 10 ION BI – OLAP Server is installed, go to install CD and click Setup.exe Step 2. Click Next on the Infor ION BI Quality Statistical Process Control – Installation Wizard pane. ![]() Step 3. Retain the default settings and click Next. Make a note of the installation path as it is required in the configuration process. ![]() Note: You can change the location for the Installation. Step 4. Select SQL Server. Note: Do not select Oracle as only the SQL Server is supported in this version. Step 5. Enter the SQL Server name where the Base Data Store 10.3 is installed, username and password and click Next. The user must have administrator rights to create the database, tables, views, functions, and stored procedures on the server. ![]() Step 6. Select SQL Server, enter the SQL Server name, Login ID and password and click Next. The user must have administrator rights on the server to create the database, tables, views, functions, and stored procedures. ![]() Note: Specify the Database Name as BV_BDS which was created at the time of the installation of BDS 10.3 SP1. Step 7. Click Next. The user must have administrator rights on the server to create the database, tables, views, functions, and stored procedures. ![]() Step 8. Enter the computer name where the OLAP Server is installed and click Next. We recommend that you execute this installation on the system, where the OLAP server is installed. ![]() Step 9. Click Install. ![]() Note: If you want to review or change the settings, click Back. Step 10. This pane is displayed when the Installation is in progress. ![]() Step 11. Enter the name of the WebService and click Next. The name is used for the URL ID to access the reports via the Web. ![]() The web service setup can also be performed separately, using the Application Studio Web Services Expert. This tool is installed by default, when the user installs the Infor10 ION Business Intelligence tool. Step 12. Retain the default settings and click Next. ![]() Step 13. Specify a password and click Finish. ![]() Step 14. Click Close. ![]() Configuration process after installation Step 1. Go to Start > All Programs > Infor 10 ION Business Intelligence > Repository Administration. Step 2. Expand Repository Registrations. Step 3. Right-click QM_Repository and click Connect. Step 4. Enter the user name as Admin, the Password field must be blank, and click OK. ![]() Note: Ensure that the Infor10 OLAP Server 10.3 service tool is running. Step 5. Test the web service by specifying the following url in the web browser:
The login page is displayed, indicating that the web service setup is configured successfully. Note: Do not change the password of the user Admin. Configuration in OLAP Administration Step 1. Open OLAP Administration Step 2. Go to Start > All Programs > Infor 10 ION Business Intelligence > OLAP Administration Step 3. Expand the Infor10 BI Administration folder. Step 4. Select Computer Configuration and expand. Step 5. In the Local Computer list, expand the QM_Reporsitory folder. Step 6. Select Database settings. Set the Startup Mode to “Automatic+Events”: ![]() Configuration and setup Import Master Import Master is used for the ETL (extract, transform, and load) process to build the dimensions and cubes for the QM. The steps are: Step 1. Open the Import Master tool, as administrator. Step 2. Select the QMAnalytics.imd file from the path C:\Program Files (x86)\Infor\BI\ImportMaster. Step 3. Right-click to select the properties of the three data sources, to set the server and login details:
Step 4. Select ‘Connect...’ to set the connection details for data source. ![]() Step 5. As specified in step 4 and 5 of the BI installation process:
Step 6. Go to the properties of PM OLAP database and set the server and login details. ![]() Step 7. Enter the username and password for the PM OLAP. Step 8. Select the PM OLAP server name, as entered in step 6 of the BI Installation section. The server name is displayed as <servername>/QMANALYTICS. Step 9. Expand the Jobs folder and select QM job from the Multidimensional Databases. Step 10. Right-click the QM Job and select Properties. Step 11. On the Runtime tab, on the Properties pane, set the runtime schedule for the Job. Step 12. On the Error Handling tab on the Properties pane, select “Ignore any error” option from the “Stop if” list. Step 13. Specify the path where the log file must be saved in the LOG file option. Step 14. In the list box, select Append Timestamp to filename. Step 15. To schedule the job, Open Import Master Service Manager. Step 16. Click Open and select the QMAnalytics.imd file to schedule the job. Step 17. Select the QM Job and select Enable. This Job is used to process the dimensions and cubes. Step 18. Click Start to start the Import Master services. Configuration and setup in ION - related to BI Step 1. Connect to Infor ION Desk. Step 2. Go to Model >> Connect >> Document Flows. ![]() Step 3. Click the Import button. The Windows Explorer is displayed. Navigate to the location specified in step 3 of the BI installation section, and select the BV_LN_QM_BI.xml. Step 4. By default the file is stored in C:\Program Files (x86)\Infor\BI\ION_CONFIGURATION\ Step 5. Click Open to create the first connection point in the ION Desk. Infor LN connection point is available through the generic solution number 22945150. You can download this solution from the Infor Xtreme Support portal at http://www.inforxtreme.com/. Using these connection points, you must create a simple document flow with two application tasks. One application task must be based on the Infor LN connection point, and the other application task must be based on the LN_BI_QM_Dashbaord connection point. The document between the two connection points must contain the following nouns. You must ensure for each noun the Sync verb is enabled:

SQL server database Step 1. Select the first LN_BI_QM_Dashbaord application task in the Flow diagram. Step 2. Select the Application from the Application Task in the same screen. Step 3. Click Details in the Application Task. Step 4. Edit the connection details to enter the business vault run time database server login n password details. Step 5. Click Test to ensure that the connection is successful. ![]() Step 6. Click Save. Click Save to exit from the Document Flow Modeler to the Document Flows screen. Select the document flow BV_LN_QM_BI and click Activate to activate the flow of BODs to the run time database of the business vault. This activation can be postponed until after configurations of both Import Master and Setup in Workspace. Configuration and setup in Business Vault - related to
BI Step 1. Connect to Infor Business Vault desk. Step 2. Open the Administration and create a new Database connection for QM. Step 3. Create a new database connection. Step 4. Give the connection details of the Base Data store database and use test to test the connection. ![]() Step 5. Under Data Store Management, create a new data store to create BOD mappings and link the Data base connection created in the earlier step. ![]() Step 6. Activate the data store. BI With the new 10.4.0 BI Dashboards, the user can create a dashboard with the preferred metrics and reports. Steps to create a Dashboard Step 1. Open Dashboard Web Expert from the BI tools. Step 2. Select the Default Web Site and click Next. Step 3. Select Basic Authentication and click Finish. Step 4. Open the dashboard (URL //<ServerName>/Dashboards). Step 5. Click Open and the password field must be blank. ![]() Step 6. In the Content Connections menu, specify the details and establish the connection. ![]() ![]() Step 7. After the connection is established, the metrics and reports for Quality manager are displayed: ![]() Step 8. Any metric can be dragged and the widgets can be resized. Note: For more details to create a dashboard, see the BI dashboard guide in inforxtreme.com. After the dashboard is created, a URL can be created from the menu. To link the dashboard to the workspace, create a generic web part and specify the URL you created. This opens the the BI dashboard.
