Shipping Office (fmfmd0680m000)

Use this session to view and maintain shipping offices.

To use a Shipping Office for load building and freight order clustering purposes, you must link the shipping office to:

  • Warehouses
  • Planning groups
  • Matrix definitions

Optionally, you can link carriers to a shipping office.

Note

You can link a shipping office to various warehouses, but you can only link a warehouse to one shipping office.

Only authorized users can use planning groups and shipping offices to build shipments and loads or to cluster freight orders. Authorizations are given for combinations of shipping offices and planning groups in the Users by Shipping Office and Planning Group (fmfoc1105m000) session. However, if the External updates on actual plans allowed check box is selected in the Freight Planning Parameters (fmlbd0100m000) session, unauthorized users can change plan and order data for actual load plans.

If the Route Plans by Shipping Office and Planning Group and the Standard Routes by Shipping Office and Planning Group check boxes are selected in the Freight Planning Parameters (fmlbd0100m000) session, you must link route plans and standard routes to the current shipping office and planning group in the Route Plans and Standard Routes tabs.

Authorizations

In the Users by Shipping Office and Planning Group (fmfoc1105m000) session, you can maintain user authorizations for shipping offices and planning groups. If you link a user logon code to a combination of a shipping office and a planning group, the user is authorized for this combination.

Site

A business location of an enterprise that can maintain its own logistical data. It includes a collection of warehouses, departments and assembly lines at the same location. Sites are used to model the supply chain in a multisite environment.

These restrictions apply to sites:

  • A site cannot cross countries. The warehouses and departments of the site must be in the same country as the site.
  • A site is linked to one planning cluster. Consequently, all warehouses and work centers of a site must belong to the same planning cluster.
  • A site is linked to one logistic company.

You can link a site to an enterprise unit or an enterprise unit to a site.

If an enterprise unit is linked to a site, the entities of the site belong to the enterprise unit. Conversely, if a site is linked to an enterprise unit, the entities of the enterprise unit belong to the site.

Enterprise Unit

The enterprise unit of the current shipping office.

Labor Rate Code

The labor rate is used to determine the intercompany price for hours spent on fulfilling an order or project.
