Cross-dockingWhen you use cross-docking, received goods are directly assigned to the shipping process. Cross-docking corresponds to the physical flow of the goods as they are moved directly from the receiving dock to the shipping dock. This prevents superfluous inbound and outbound handling. Cross-dock orders are used to transfer the inbound goods immediately from receiving location to staging location for issue. Cross-dock order lines are generated only for inbound order lines that have a planned receipt date that matches the planned delivery date of the outbound order line considering the cross-dock lead time between the two dates.
