Item ATP

Available-to-promise (ATP) information represents the balance of planned supply and actual demand. You can use ATP information to determine how much you can still sell to customers.

Note

If multisite functionality is active, the checks are performed per planning cluster.

You can find ATP information in:

  • The item master plan (master-plan-based ATP)
  • The item order plan (order-based ATP)

Master-plan-based ATP gives ATP information by plan period, while order-based ATP is calculated for a particular point in time. Both types of ATP are computed by considering existing inventory, actual demand, and (planned and actual) supply.

You can complement ATP with advanced capable-to-promise (CTP) techniques:

  • LN takes into account the available components of an end item and translates these components in the number of end items you can make of them.
  • LN takes into account the available capacity on the resources used to produce the end item and translates the item in the number of end items that you can make with that capacity.
  • LN takes into account a limit for ATP value of an end items for a specific sales channel.
  • LN takes into account the availability of the family item to which a specific end item belongs.
