Packaging Item The code of the packaging item. Package Type The package type defines whether goods are packed in the packaging item, for example, in a box, or put on the packaging item, for example, on a pallet. This information enables LN to have accurate dimensions of goods that are packaged in this manner. Reusable If this check box is selected, the item is reusable. Reusable packaging items can be used many times: for example, pallets and shipping containers. These items can be returned to inventory when empty. In the Packaging Items by Business Partner (whwmd4107m000) session, you can track reusable packaging items entering and leaving the warehouse. Tracking reusable packaging items make it possible for packaging items to be received back from customers and sent back to suppliers. In the Packaging Items by Business Partner (whwmd4107m000) session, the quantities of reusable packaging items shipped to and received from business partners are automatically updated during the receiving and shipping processes. When packaging items are sent in bulk back to a supplier, or conversely received from a customer, and are not processed through the receiving or shipping sessions, this session is used as the means to update the quantities. From the appropriate menu, click Packaging Items by Business Partner to start the Packaging Items by Business Partner (whwmd4107m000) session. If this check box is cleared, the item is not reusable. The packaging items are not tracked. Accountable If this check box is selected, LN records the transactions for a packaging item in a detailed manner.
