The code of the warehouse where the location is situated.
Warehouse - Location (whwmd3100s000)Use this session to record, change, or view the location details. You can link a text to the location and can print their texts by using several print sessions. Note In a Shop Floor warehouse, you can only receive goods in Bulk locations. Therefore, if you specify Receiving locations for a Shop Floor warehouse and you want to receive goods in such a location, nothing happens.
Locations Warehouse The code of the warehouse where the location is situated. Location The code that identifies a location within a warehouse. For each warehouse you can define multiple locations. General Search Key An alternative form of a description used for convenience during searching. Typically, it is an abbreviation, an acronym, or a mnemonic alternative to a full description. Location Type The location type. Note If the location is occupied, that is, inventory is present, or a replenishment matrix is specified for the location in the Replenishment Location Matrix (whwmd3504m000) session, you are not allowed to change the location type. Address The address of the location. In large warehouses, locations can have addresses different from the warehouse's main entrance. Storage Zone The code of the zone to which the location belongs. If the current location is allocated to a business partner, you cannot assign the location to a zone allocated to a business partner other than the business partner of the current location. Owner The business partner allocated to the location. The business partner allocated to the location is the owner of the inventory stored in the location. You can select either a buy-from business partner or a sold-to business partner. You cannot change the value in this field if:
Note If the Registration Level for the current warehouse is Physical Item, the location may contain handling units with child handling units containing items with owners other than the business partner allocated to the location. For further information, see Ownership registration setup in Warehousing. Row/Level/Bin The code of the row in the warehouse in which the location is situated. Row/Level/Bin The story (floor or level) within the warehouse where the inventory location is situated. Row/Level/Bin The code of the location's bin. Note Often a bin number is used as a sequence number for the combination of row and level. Remark The code of the remark that is assigned to the location in the Remarks (whwmd1130m000) session. This message appears on the screen in different sessions as soon as the corresponding location is used. Text If this check box is selected, a text is present. Characteristics Multi-Item Locations If this check box is selected, you can store items with different item codes at the location. Infinite Capacity You can record data that gives insight into the capacity of each location. If this check box is selected, capacity calculation does not apply to this location. Note The total location capacity can be so large that the capacity will never become critical. In such a case, you do not need to maintain the capacity. You can indicate whether or not LN must monitor capacities through the Infinite Capacity field. Multi-Lot by Item If this check box is selected, you can store more than one lot of one item at the location. Note If an item is subject to lot control, this field applies. Location Occupied If this check box is selected, the location contains one or more items. If this check box is cleared, the location is unoccupied. LN updates this field. As a result, you receive a quick insight into which locations are still unoccupied. If LN generates inbound advice and you have selected the Use Only Unoccupied Locations when Generating Inbound Advice check box in the Warehouse Master Data Parameters (whwmd0100s000) session, the value of this check box is taken into account. Location Full If this check box is selected, the location is full. As a result, no more items can be stored in the location. Fixed Location Fixed Location If this check box is selected, the location is a fixed location for one or more items in the Fixed Locations (whwmd3502m000) session. With inbound advice, fixed locations take a higher priority than those that are not fixed. Allow Other Items If this check box is selected, an inbound advice can be generated for an item stored in a fixed multi-item location even when this location is not defined as the fixed location for the given item. You can define the location as fixed location for an item in the Fixed Locations (whwmd3502m000) session. If this check box is cleared, an inbound advice cannot be generated for items which are not defined for a fixed multi-item location. Default value By default, the check box is selected, if you select the Allow Other Items check box in the Warehouses (whwmd2500m000) session. Transactions Blocked for All Transactions If this check box is selected, the location is blocked for all transactions. This check box appears dimmed, so you cannot select or clear it. You can clear or select this check box in the Zone/Location Blocking (whwmd6110m000) session. Inbound If this check box is selected, inbound advice can be generated for this location. When generating advice, only unblocked inbound locations are considered. By selecting this check box, you also define whether or not you allow manual entry of warehouse receipts for this location in the Warehouse Orders module. Blocked If this check box is selected, the location is blocked for inbound. Note If the Inbound check box is cleared, this field appears dimmed. Outbound If this check box is selected, this location can be used for issuing items. You can generate outbound advice for the location and manually enter warehouse issues for this location in the Warehouse Orders module. If this check box is cleared, you cannot generate outbound advice for this location. In this case, warehouse issues for this location in the Warehouse Orders module are also not allowed. Blocked If this check box is selected, the location is blocked for outbound. Note If the Outbound check box is cleared, this field appears dimmed. Transfer (Receipt) If this check box is selected, you can use the location to store goods that originate from another location. If this check box is cleared, inward transhipment is not possible at this location. Blocked If this check box is selected, the location is blocked for inward transhipment. Note If the Transfer (Receipt) check box is cleared, this field appears dimmed. Transfer (Issue) This check box indicates whether you must use the location to transfer goods to another location in the same warehouse or to a location in another warehouse. If this check box is cleared, out transhipment is not possible at this location. Blocked If this check box is selected, the location is blocked for transferring goods to another location. Note If the Transfer (Issue) check box is cleared, this field appears dimmed. Assembly If this check box is selected, you can use the location for assembly purposes. Blocked If this check box is selected, the location is blocked for assembly. An assembly location can (temporarily) be blocked for assembly. Blocking (temporarily) prevents assembly activities from being accepted at this location while still retaining it as an assembly location. Note If the Inbound check box is cleared, this field appears dimmed. Date of Last Status Change The date at which the location status was last changed. Status changes are changes in:
As a result, a change of one of the following check boxes constitutes a location status change:
Sequences Priorities Inbound Priority The inbound priority number for the location. You can use this number when generating inbound advice. The highest allowed priority is 0 and the lowest allowed priority is 999999. When generating inbound advice, LN first checks whether any fixed locations are available where the items can be stored. If so, LN then checks the inbound priority as it was recorded in the Fixed Locations (whwmd3502m000) session. With equal priorities, the location code is the decisive factor. If items cannot all be stored in the fixed locations, LN will consider locations that are not fixed but only if the Use Free (Unfixed) Locations when Generating Inbound Advice check box in the Warehouse Master Data Parameters (whwmd0100s000) session is selected. If more locations are available that are not fixed, these are also handled in sequence of inbound priority. This priority can be recorded with a number by location as well as location by item. The lowest number has the highest priority. If there are many nonfixed locations for the same item, LN will advise by sequence of location code (when priorities are equal). The lower the code, the higher the priority. Outbound Priority The location's outbound priority. When generating outbound advice, LN advises the locations in sequence of outbound priority. You can specify a number between 0 and 999999. If the location priorities are equal, LN sorts the locations based on the stock point quantity available from lowest to highest. The lowest stock point quantity has a higher outbound priority. If there are multiple stock points that have the same priority and same available quantity, the location code is finally used in ascending order. Storing/Picking Sequences Sequence on Picking List A sequence number for the picking order on the picking list. After outbound advice has been generated, LN prints the picking lists for outbound items. The items are retrieved from the inventory locations on the basis of the picking list. To design the best route through the warehouse, you must consider the ABC class of the items on the picking list and the walking distance. For this purpose, you can assign a sequence number to each location. Picking lists can be printed by sequence number in the Print Outbound Advice (whinh4460m000) session. If no sequence number has been entered in this field, lists are printed in sequence of warehouse/location. The sort sequence on the picking lists is entered in the Generate Picking List (whinh4415m000) session. Sequence on Storage List The sequence of the location on the storage list. After inbound advice has been generated, LN prints storage lists for inbound items. The items are put away in the inventory locations on the basis of the storage list. To design the best route through the warehouse, you must consider the ABC class of the items on the storage list and the walking distance. For this purpose, you can assign a sequence number to each location. Storage lists can be printed by sequence number in the Print Receipt History (whinh3460m000) session. If no sequence number has been entered in this field, lists are printed in the sequence of warehouse/location. The sort sequence on the storage lists is entered in the print session.
Print Locations Starts the Print Locations (whwmd3400m000) session. By default, LN starts this session to print the report.
