SequencingYou can use Sequencing if handling units must be packed in a predefined structure and loaded on to a truck or other vehicle in descending order of the sequence numbers allocated to the handling units. This means that the handling unit with the highest sequence number is loaded first, and the handling unit with the lowest sequence number is the last to be loaded. Consequently, the handling unit that is to be unloaded first is the last one to be loaded. To accomplish this, the reference numbers of the originating sales schedule lines are used as the loading sequence numbers of the handling units. In the outbound process, an outbound advice line is generated for each reference number. If picking lists are used in the outbound procedure, a picking list line is generated for each reference number. For the handling units, templates are defined for which Single Reference and Single Packaging Reference A are activated for the bottom nodes. During the release of the outbound advice or the confirmation of the picking lists:
If this order is not observed, the process stops and an error message is displayed. For example, if a picking list line is manually picked and confirmed while other not yet picked lines with higher sequence numbers are present, an error message is displayed. In this way, the application creates the correct order in which to stage and load the handling units. However, the application does not monitor the actual loading activities carried out by the docking personnel on the loading platform. Setup
Process details The reference number of the originating sales schedule line is specified in the Reference field of the Sales Schedule Lines (tdsls3107m000) session. From the sales schedule lines, the reference numbers are passed on to the:
Because the sequencing functionality uses projected shipments, the load and shipment structure is created when the outbound order lines are created. Handling unit building If the sequencing functionality is activated, these rules apply when handling units are generated:
Example Handling unit template T1 defines a packaging item of type Pallet for the top level and two packaging items of type Box for the bottom level. Each box contains 20 items. For the bottom nodes, Single Reference and Single Packaging Reference A are activated. In template T1, multi-item handling units are allowed. Projected shipment line SHP1000/10 is present with the following reference information in the Shipment Line Reference Distribution (whinh4529m000) session:
According to the sequencing rules, line 2 with reference number 3333 is picked first, because these items are the first to be loaded. For line 2, this handling unit structure is generated based on template T1:
Next, line 3 is picked with reference number 2222. This handling unit structure is generated:
Handling unit HU002 becomes multi-item and multi-reference, but remains single packaging reference A. Finally, line 1 is picked with reference number 1111. Line 1 has packaging reference A 80 and quantity 20. A new handling unit HU003 is created:
