Calculate Product Variant Sales Price Structure (tipcf5230m000)

Use this session to calculate the sales price structure for product variants.

The calculation gives you insight in how the sales price for product variants is made up. The sales price structure for product variants can be printed on sales order documents in addition to, or instead of the product variant options. Product variant options show the technical aspects of a certain product variant, while the sales price structure is a commercial representation of the chosen product variant options.

You must select the following data before the sales price structure can be computed:

  • Product variant codes
  • Item codes
  • Reference types
  • Reference orders
  • Reference positions
  • Sold to business partner
  • Customer
  • Product configuration date
Note

If you want to calculate the sales price for a range of product variants, use the Validate Product Variants (tipcf5200m000) session.

Product Variant

A unique configuration of a configurable item. The variant results from the configuration process and includes information such as feature options, components, and operations.

Example

Configurable item: electric drill

Options:

  • 3 power sources (batteries, 12 V or 220 V)
  • 2 colors (blue, gray).

A total of 6 product variants can be produced with these options.

From Item

An item that exists in multiple product variants. Before any manufacturing activities are performed on a generic item, the item must be configured to determine the desired product variant.

Example

Generic item: electric drill

Options:

  • 3 power sources (batteries, 12 V or 220 V)
  • 2 colors (blue, gray).

A total of 6 product variants can be produced with these options.

Reference Type

A product variant may relate to a sales quotation, sales order, budget or project, or it may concern a standard variant.

Allowed values

Possible values

Reference Order

The number of the sales quotation, the sales order, the budget, contract deliverable or the project to which the product variant refers.

Reference Position

The position number of the sales quotation line or the sales order line to which the product variant refers.

Alternative Sales Quotation

Multiple alternatives can be generated for one quotation line. The main position is assigned the sequence number zero. Sequence numbers 1, 2, 3, and so on represent the alternatives 1, 2, 3, and so on.

Alternatives are not included in (sub)totals and balances, and are only included in time-phased inventory movements if the Status field in the Sales Quotation Lines (tdsls1501m000) session is not Confirmed.

Note
  • Inventory is only checked when an alternative is confirmed and transferred to an order line.
  • Multiple alternative lines can be confirmed and converted for each quotation line.
Sold-to Business Partner

Usually a customer's purchase department, the business partner who orders goods or services from your organization, that owns the configurations you maintain, or for whom you perform a project.

The agreement with the sold-to business partner can include the following:

  • Default price and discount agreements
  • Sales order defaults
  • Delivery terms
  • The related ship-to and invoice-to business partner
Product Configuration Date

The date on which the product variant data was last changed.
