Linking Operation (Step) - Process Variables

Note

You can define process variables in the Process Variables (tirou0105m000) session.

To link process variables to an operation

If you want to link process variables directly to operations for instruction purposes, you can select a record in the Routing Operations (tirou1102m000) session, and on the appropriate menu, click Process Variables.

As a result, the Operation (Step) - Process Variables (tirou1111m000) Operation (Step) - Process Variables (tirou1111m000) session starts, in which you can link one or more process variables to an operation. These process variables are presented together with the relevant operation on production order documents.

To link process variables to an operation step

If you want the job shop operators to check process variables in a specified order for a specific operation, you must link each process variable to a separate operation step for the relevant operation.

After you have defined operation steps for the operations in the Operation Steps (tirou1105m000) session, you can link one or more process variables to each operation step.

  • Select an operation step in the Operation Steps (tirou1105m000) session for the correct item/routing/operation combination.
  • On the appropriate menu, click Process Variables.
  • Start the Operation (Step) - Process Variables (tirou1111m000) session, in which you can link one or more process variables to an operation step.
Example

If a specific operation requires some elements to be glued to another element, each at a specific temperature, the most efficient order for glueing can be set up by linking each process variable (in this case, the different temperatures) to a separate operation step.

Default value

If the current session is started for an operation that makes use of a task relationship to which process variables are linked in the Task Relationship - Process Variables (tirou0116m000) session, the process variables from the Task Relationship - Process Variables (tirou0116m000) session are defaulted to the current session.

Even if process variables are linked by default to an operation in this session, you can still link process variables manually to an operation step in this session. As a result, you can link process variables to both an operation and to operation steps at the same time.
