Inspection Order Samples (qmptc1110m000)

Use this session to maintain samples, based on the sample size of the inspection order. The total of all sample quantities cannot exceed the Maximum Size.

After an inspection order has been created, but before the inspection can be carried out, you must draw a sample which is representative of the entire order or batch.

You can draw more than one sample, but the total quantity of these samples cannot exceed the sample size that is specified for the inspection order. To complete an inspection order, the total sample quantity must equal the sample size.

Inspections should be maintained in session " Inspection Orders (qmptc1100m000) " before the samples can be maintained. It is not possible to modify those samples for which the test data has already been entered.

Inspection Order

An order used to structure the inspection of products that are purchased, produced, or sold.

Inspection Status

The inspection status indicates the current status of the inspection order.

Item

The raw materials, subassemblies, finished products, and tools that can be purchased, stored, manufactured, and sold.

An item can also represent a set of items handled as one kit, or which exist in multiple product variants.

You can also define nonphysical items, which are not retained in inventory but can be used to post costs or to invoice services to customers. The examples of nonphysical items:

  • Cost items (for example, electricity)
  • Service items
  • Subcontracting services
  • List items (menus/options)
Note
  • Standard items are expressed in an item code.
  • Segmented items consist of a project code segment and an item base segment (the item code of the customized item). The segments that an item can consist of are defined in the Item Code Segmentation (tcibd0500m000) session.
Note

The quality combination of the item (defined in this session) overrules the quality combination of the quality group to which the item belongs.

Maximum Size

The maximum size of the sample quantity depends on the test type.

- 100 % or Single Sampling:

Maximum Size = Sample Size

- Continuous Sampling:

Maximum Size = ( Order Quantity/ Frequency) x Sample Size

The sample of continuous sampling is equal to the sample size.

Maximum Size

The physical quantity in which an item or good is managed. For example, a quantity of wood can be expressed as a length by using the unit of one meter, or as a volume by using the unit of one cubic meter.

Total Quantity

The total quantity of all samples. In the end, the quantity must equal the sample size.

Sample

A small quantity that is drawn from the total (order) quantity and which represents the order quantity's quality.

Test Quantity

The part of the sample quantity that is tested each time.

Explanation: A 5 kg sample will be tested by testing 1 kg at a time.

Sample Size

When you draw a sample of a specific order quantity, you often do not want to test all the pieces at once. A sample quantity is the actual quantity that is drawn from the total sample size, and that is tested at once.

Date

The date that a sample is drawn.

Origin

An integrated module or package to which an (inspection) order is related.

Origin Order

The order number of the origin of the inspection.

Operation/Position No

The number on the order to which the inspection order is linked.

This number can be:

  • The position number of the sales order line
  • The position number of the purchase order line
  • The position number in the BOM
  • If the origin is Routing (TI), the operation number
