Characteristic Based AQL Switching

A sampling rule is associated to test group within the Standard Test Procedure; consequently, switching rules can be defined for an individual inspection order (Order Level) or by characteristic category linked to a inspection order. The acceptable quality level varies based on the criticality of a specified characteristic. In characteristic based switching, you can view, create and specify a default AQL for a characteristic category.

For example, consider the item to be a traffic signal, for which the display characteristics(Displaying red, green, yellow lights) are criticial. The brightness of display can be considered as a major characteristic. The color of the outer body can be consider as a minor characteristic.

In this case, the following scenario is setup for the inspection order in addition to the normal accept/defect criteria for the individual sample:

  • Critical defects: Accept 0 defects and reject on 1 defect
  • Major defects: Accept 5 defects and reject on 6 defects
  • Minor defects: Accept 10 defects and reject on 11 defects

Inspection order result is determined by combining inspection order lines of similar defect classification together.

This implies that the sample is accepted if no critical defects, no more than 5 major defects, and no more than 10 minor defects are identified for an inspection order.

Master Data Setup
  1. In the Quality Management Parameters (qmptc0100m000) session, select the Characteristic Based AQL checkbox.
  2. In the Sampling Plan (qmptc0670m000) session, for a sampling plan:
    • Specify the sample size for a letter.
    • Specify the AQL for the defect classifications.
    • Review the AQL matrix based on which the inspection order test results will be accepted or rejected.
  3. In the Sampling Rules (qmptc0160m000) session, for a specified sampling rule and sampling plan:
    • Set the AQL Switching field to Characteristic.
    • Specify the data for the characteristics with various severities.
  4. In the Standard Test Procedure (qmptc0110m100) session, for the item, specify the data in the Test Group Characteristics tab. You can specify the defect classification type for a characteristic in this tab.
Implementing the AQL Based Switching
  1. In the Purchase Order (tdpur4100m900) session, create a purchase order for a specified item.
  2. Approve and release the purchase order.
  3. In the Warehouse Receipt (whinh3512m000) session, confirm the receipt and click Inspection. Infor LN creates an order inspection based on the data specified in the master data sessions.
  4. In the Inspection Order (qmptc1100m100) session, specify the values for the test data lines. The test results are populated based on the AQL matrix.
  5. Complete the inspection order.
  6. Complete and process the order inspection.

You can view the AQL based switching transactions for an item inspection in the Item Sampling Rule Details(qmptc1580m000) session.
