The item type places the item in a group of items, so that certain functions of the package only apply to that item group.
Items - Warehousing Defaults (whwmd4501m000)Use this session to view and maintain the default item warehousing data. If you enter a new record in the Items - Warehousing (whwmd4500m000) session, and you enter the item type and an item group, LN retrieves the default data you defined in the current session. Note To update processing parameters at multiple item and/or warehousing levels, on the appropriate menu, click Update active Parameters in Warehouses and Items.

Use Item Ordering Data The settings that determine whether item values from the Items - Ordering (tcibd2100m000) session are used to create items of the current item
type and item group in the Items - Warehousing (whwmd4500m000) and the Item Data by Warehouse (whwmd2510m000) session. The value specified in the current
session is defaulted to the Items - Warehousing (whwmd4500m000) session. Allowed values Item Group The code of the item group to which the
defaults apply. Allow Negative Inventory Allowed values The value in this field is defaulted to the Allow Negative Inventory field of the Items - Warehousing (whwmd4500m000) session. Note Negative inventory is not allowed for:
Create Outbound Advice Despite Inventory Shortage If this check box is selected, LN allows outbound
advice to be generated even if insufficient inventory is available. To generate
outbound advice for negative inventory, the Create Outbound Advice Despite Inventory Shortage check
box in the Generate Outbound Advice (whinh4201m000) session must also be
selected. If the value of the Allow Negative Inventory field is:
Note If this check box is cleared, you can still manually create outbound advice through the Outbound Advice (whinh4525m000) session in case of inventory shortage. Length The length of the item. Length The unit in which the length of the item is
measured. Width The width of the item. Height The height of the item. Product Assembly Kit Part If this check box is selected, the item can be used as assembly part in the Assembly Kit Parts List (whwmd4151m000) session. Note This field is displayed only if the Product Based Assembly Kits check box is selected in the Warehouse Master Data Parameters (whwmd0100s000) session. Print Stock Point Details on Shipment Documents If this check box is selected, LN prints the lot codes
and serial numbers present in the Shipment Line Stock Point Details (whinh4133m000) session on the shipment documents. This
option is especially required if the shipment documents are printed
automatically. Rejects Handling The method used to handle items rejected during warehouse
inspection. The value in this field is defaulted from the Rejects Handling field in the Items - Warehousing (whwmd4500m000) session. Allowed values Disposition Due Lead Time The default date and time on which quarantine inventory becomes
available for planning using Enterprise Planning, TPOP, or SIC. The disposition lead time applies if By Due Date is selected in the Available for Planning field of
the Inventory Handling Parameters (whinh0100m000) session. Time Unit The time unit used for the disposition lead time.
Items - Warehousing Starts the Items - Warehousing (whwmd4500m000) session. Update active Parameters in Warehouses and Items Starts the Update active Parameters in Warehouses and Items (whwmd2200m000) session.
