Negative Consigned Consumptions (whwmd2552m000)

Use this session to view the negative consigned consumptions by warehouse.

LN creates a negative consigned consumption record if an outbound advice ownership record is created for not-owned inventory for which insufficient inventory is available in LN, provided that:

  • In the Inventory Handling Parameters (whinh0100m000) session, the Negative Inventory check box is selected.
  • In the Item Data by Warehouse (whwmd2510m000) session, the Allow Negative Inventory field has value Yes or If on Order.

The quantity of the negative consumption quantity record is decreased if a receipt is confirmed for identical not-owned inventory. When the receipt is confirmed, LN checks whether negative not-owned inventory is present. LN performs this check for the received item, warehouse, and ownership. If negative inventory is found, LN creates a not-owned, that is, consigned or customer owned consumption record, as the case may be, and decreases the quantity of the pertaining negative consumption records accordingly. If the received quantity equals or exceeds the negative consumption quantity, LN removes the negative consumption record.

Note that the receipt of goods for a specific owner will not result in the consumption of owned inventory. Conversely, the receipt of owned inventory will not result in the consumption of not-owned inventory.

Warehouse
A place for storing goods. For each warehouse, you can enter address data and data relating to its type.
Item
The raw materials, subassemblies, finished products, and tools that can be purchased, stored, manufactured, and sold.

An item can also represent a set of items handled as one kit, or which exist in multiple product variants.

You can also define nonphysical items, which are not retained in inventory but can be used to post costs or to invoice services to customers. The examples of nonphysical items:

  • Cost items (for example, electricity)
  • Service items
  • Subcontracting services
  • List items (menus/options)
Lot
A number of items produced and stored together that are identified by a (lot) code. Lots identify goods.
Creation Date

Status
The status of the consumption. Possible values. Note that for negative consumptions, the status cannot be Processed.

This is because the related purchase order is not yet received in LN, which caused the consumption to be negative in the first place. To process a consumption, the consumed goods must have been paid, but payment cannot be made before the purchase order is received.

Use for Last Transaction Date
If this check box is selected, the current consumption is used to determine the latest transaction date if the ownership is time based after the latest transaction. Note that this setting is not changed if the terms and conditions are changed, because the terms and conditions effective on the receipt date are used.
