Using the Where Used option in the Item, Lot and Serial session

The Where Used option provides a bottom-up view of the item selected in the Selection (whltc3600m200). The bottom-up view is displayed in the graph that constitutes the Tracking (whltc3800m000) session.

The selected item is displayed in the top folder. The higher levels of the physical breakdown structure of the selected item are displayed in the subfolders.

For example, if the selected item is a bottom-level component in the BOM structure of an end item, this item is displayed in the top folder of the graph. The higher level components in which the selected item is used are displayed in the cascading folders. In this way, you can view all components and end items in which the selected item is used.

Note
  • To view the breakdown structure of an item in the graph, you must specify a lot or serial number in the Selection (whltc3600m200) session.

If you specify an item without a lot or serial number in the Selection (whltc3600m200) session, the lot and serial numbers and the related transactions of this item are displayed in the Item, Lot and Serial Transactions (whltc3510m000) session.

  • The date displayed in the As Built heading in the graph is the transaction date of the warehouse receipt of the lot or serial specified in the Selection (whltc3600m200) session.

  • The date displayed in the As Maintained heading in the graph is the start date of the status of the lot or serial item specified in the Selection (whltc3600m200) session, if the specified item is a component.

If the specified item is the end item, the As Maintained heading does not display a date. The start date of the status is taken from the Status Start Time field of the Physical Breakdowns (tscfg2110m000) session.

  • The status start time is not specified for the top node of the physical breakdown.

  • The As Maintained folder displays the current version of the as-maintained structure. Previous versions of the as-maintained structure are not supported.

If you right-click a folder in the graph, you can start various sessions in which details of the item, lot, and/or serial number contained in the folder are displayed.

If you select a folder in the graph, all transactional information relating to the item, lot, and/or serial number contained in the folder is displayed in the Item, Lot and Serial Transactions (whltc3510m000) session, which constitutes the lower half of the Item, Lot and Serial 360 (whltc3600m100) session.
