| Item - Inventory Structure (whinr1550m000)Use this session to view
the packaging structure on inventory level. Item The raw materials, subassemblies, finished products, and tools
that can be purchased, stored, manufactured, and sold. An item can also represent a set of items handled as one kit,
or which exist in multiple product variants. You can also define nonphysical items, which are not
retained in inventory but can be used to post costs or to invoice services to
customers. The examples of nonphysical items: - Cost items (for example, electricity)
- Service items
- Subcontracting services
- List items (menus/options)
Inventory Unit The unit of measure in which the inventory of an item is
recorded, such as piece, kilogram, box of 12, or meter. The inventory unit is also used as the base unit in measure
conversions, especially for conversions that concern the order unit and the
price unit on a purchase order or a sales order. These conversions always use
the inventory unit as the base unit. An inventory unit therefore applies to all
item types, also to item types that cannot be kept in stock. Warehouse A place for storing goods. For each warehouse, you can enter
address data and data relating to its type. Location / .. A distinct place in a warehouse where goods are stored. A warehouse can be divided into locations to manage the
available space, and to locate the stored goods. Storage conditions and blocks
can be applied to individual locations. .. / Lot A number of items produced and stored together that are
identified by a (lot) code. Lots identify goods. Inventory Date A date that is assigned to items when they are stored. You can
use inventory dates to retrieve items based on FIFO (First In First Out) or
LIFO (Last In First Out), without carrying out extensive lot control. The meaning of the inventory date is connected to the
outbound priority of LIFO, FIFO, or the product expiry date of the item. With outbound priority LIFO or FIFO, the default for the
inventory date is the system date; however, you can overwrite this so that the
inventory date does not have to be equal to the storage date. If the item has a
particular shelf life, the inventory date is the product expiry date defined
for the item. Package Definition A particular configuration of items and their packaging. A
package definition for an item can, for example, be the following: a pallet
contains 12 boxes and each box contains 4 pieces. Level Note - If no package definition is specified for the item, the
level is zero.
- If a package definition is specified for the item, the
levels are greater than zero. LN retrieves the package definition levels from the Item - Package Definition - Packaging Levels (whwmd4540m000) session.
Unit The unit of measure in which the inventory of an item is
recorded, such as piece, kilogram, box of 12, or meter. The inventory unit is also used as the base unit in measure
conversions, especially for conversions that concern the order unit and the
price unit on a purchase order or a sales order. These conversions always use
the inventory unit as the base unit. An inventory unit therefore applies to all

expressed in the storage unit. Visual Inventory(Inventory Unit) The visual inventory of the item at the packaging level,
expressed in the inventory unit. Allocated Quantity in Storage Unit Inventory throughout all warehouses that is allocated to
outbound order lines. After the inventory is shipped, that is, has left the
warehouse, the allocation is deleted. Also referred to as standard allocation
or soft allocation. See also inventory location allocation. Process Blocked Quantity in Storage Unit The quantity that is blocked for one of the following: - Inspection of
received items.
- Inspection of items
to be issued.
- Rejected items.
Note Process Blocked Quantity in Storage Unit cannot overlap the Manually Blocked Quantity in Storage Unit and Allocated Quantity in Storage Unit. Manually Blocked Quantity in Storage Unit The quantity that is manually blocked in one of the following
sessions: - Zone/Location Blocking (whwmd6110m000) or Global Zone/Location Blocking (whwmd6210m000). You can only block entire locations.
- Lot Blocking (whwmd6120m000). You can only block entire lots.
- Stock Point Blocking (whwmd6130m000). You can block
stockpoints entirely or partially.
If the stockpoint is
partially blocked, LN retrieves the Manually Blocked Quantity in Storage Unit from the Blocked Quantity in Storage Unit field in the Stock Point Blocking (whwmd6130m000) session. If the stockpoint is
fully blocked, the Manually Blocked Quantity in Storage Unit is
equal to the difference between Inventory in Storage Unit and Process Blocked Quantity in Storage Unit. Note The Manually Blocked Quantity in Storage Unit can overlap the Allocated Quantity in Storage Unit. Available Quantity in Storage Unit The quantity of the item inventory in the packaging level that
is available for production or sales or for other issues, expressed in the storage unit. LN calculates the Available Quantity in Storage Unit quantity
as follows: Inv. available = inv. on hand (st. unit) - (manually blocked in st. unit + process blocked in st. unit + allocated) Available Quantity in Inventory Unit The quantity of the item inventory in the packaging level that
is available for production or sales or for other issues, expressed in the inventory unit. LN calculates the Available Quantity in Inventory Unit as follows: Inv. available in inv. unit = inv. available * conversion factor The conversion
factor between the storage unit and the inventory unit is specified in the Conversion Factors (tcibd0103m000) session. Available non-HUInventory The quantity of the item inventory in the packaging level for
which no handling units are defined and that is available for
production or sales or for other issues, expressed in the inventory unit. | |
