ASN Line Lots and Serials (whinh3105m000)

Use this session to register the lot codes or serial numbers for ASN lines (in the high-volume scenario).

This session is used in the following situations:

The lot codes and/or serial numbers can be filled in the following ways:

  • The EDI message from the supplier can contain the data
  • LN can generate lot codes and serial numbers
  • You can enter the lot codes and serial numbers manually

The maximum number of serial numbers that you can generate and/or link is equal to the shipped quantity on the ASN line.

 

Ship-from Business Partner
The business partner who ships the ordered goods to your organization. This usually represents a supplier's distribution center or warehouse. The definition includes the default warehouse at which you want to receive the goods and if you want to inspect the goods, the carrier that takes care of the transport, and the related buy-from business partner.

The identification of a record in the distribution table.
Lot
A number of items produced and stored together that are identified by a (lot) code. Lots identify goods.

Serial Number
The serial number of the items listed in the advanced shipment notice line.

 

Generate Serials
Generates serial numbers for the items of the ASN line.
Link Serial(s)
Starts the Serialized Items (tcibd4501m000) session to link serial numbers to the items of the ASN line.
Generate Lots
Generates a new lot code and inserts the generated lot code in all empty Lot fields. If required, you can manually change the generated lot numbers. For more information, refer to Lot control (not in inventory).
Split Line for Serials
Use this command to create a line and generate a serial number for each item if the item is a high volume serialized item. The number of lines and serial numbers that is created is equal to the quantity of items. Example: If the quantity is five, five lines are created and five serial numbers are generated.
