Reference Activities (tsacm1101m000)

Use this session to maintain reference activities.

You can view the Required Skills option, only if the Skills implemented checkbox is selected in General Service Parameters (tsmdm0100m000) session.

On the appropriate menu, you can start the following sessions:

Reference Activity
The smallest unit of work that is required to carry out maintenance.
Description
The reference activity's description.
Search Argument
An alternative form of a description used for convenience during searching. A search key is usually an abbreviation, an acronym, or a mnemonic alternative to a full description.

Activity Use
The reference activity can be used for either of the following reasons: Field Service: The reference activity can be used only for Field Service usage. Depot Repair: The reference activity can be used only for Depot Repair usage. General: The reference activity is not restricted to any particular usage and can be used generally. This activity can be used for Field Service and/or depot repair.
Activity Group
The reference activity group to which the reference activity belongs.

The reference activity group is shown together with other reference activity information, and can be used as a selection criterion in various sessions.

Note

This field is visible only if the Use Activity Groups check box is selected in the Reference Activity Management Parameters (tsacm0100m000) session.

Activity Group
The description of the reference activity group.
Coverage Type
A financial classification that indicates to what extent work is covered under warranty or contract, and what part of the activities can be charged.

Coverage type is used for cost-related grouping of reference activities.

Labor Rate Code
The labor rate applicable to the reference activity.

Use Fixed Price
If this check box is selected, you can set the Sales Price as the default value for the related object to which, the Reference Activity is linked.
Calculated Sales Price
The sales price that is calculated based on the related resource requirements.
Note

This value is expressed in the specified Currency.

Sales Price
The sales price that is set as the default value for the Reference Activity. You must specify a numeric value.
Note
  • This field is enabled only if the Use Fixed Price check box is selected.
  • This value is expressed in the specified Currency.

Currency
The currency in which the Sales Price and the Calculated Sales Price are expressed.
Note
  • This field is enabled and mandatory only if the Use Fixed Price check box is selected.
  • By default, the local currency is used.
Item
The item for which the reference activity is defined.

If you want to define an activity that is valid for all items, you must leave this field blank.

Note

For a PCS project, you can specify the customized items if:

  • The status of the PCS project is set to Closed and the In-Service check box is selected in the General Projects (tcmcs0552m000) session, or
  • The status of the project is set to Active.
Description
The item description.
Functional Element
A grouping of exchangeable items with identical functions. Functional elements can be used in item breakdowns, physical breakdowns, and reference activities.
Example

When a maintenance activity is defined for a configuration, a functional element can be specified. This way, the activity applies to all items covered by that functional element, and multiple, identical reference activities for similar items are avoided.

Note

Functional elements can only be defined if the Functional Elements Active check box in the General Service Parameters (tsmdm0100m000) session is selected.

Diagnosis
Problem
The default problem code offered on field service orders, when a reference activity is used for call processing.

Service Department
The department that is responsible for the execution of a work order.
Service Department
The service department's name or description.
Work Center
The subdepartment of the service department that is responsible for the execution of a work order.
Work Center
The work center's name or description.
Checklist
Lists the points to which the service engineer must pay attention during the execution of a service activity. Checklists are used to group specific checks so that more than one check can be defined for a reference activity. According to the answers expected from the check, space is provided when printing the document related to the service order.

Downtime Ratio
downtime ratio The percentage (%) expressing the number of hours the machine or item will be used during maintenance.
Subcontracted
If this check box is selected, a requirement of type subcontracting can be added to the reference activity.
Note

You can create more than one requirement line of the type subcontracting for the reference activity.

Subcontractor
The buy-from business partner who executes the subcontract work.
Note
  • This field is enabled only if:
    • the Subcontracted check box is selected.
    • the Create Purchase Requisition check box is cleared.
  • When a subcontracted reference activity is added to a subcontracted master routing, the Buy-from BP must be empty, or equal to the Buy-from BP of the master routing.
Description
The description or name of the code.
Supply Item to Subcontractor
If this check box is selected, the subcontracted item is supplied to the subcontractor warehouse.
Note
  • This field is enabled only if:
    • the Subcontracting with Material Flow field is selected in the Implemented Software Components (tccom0100s000)
    • the Subcontracted check box is selected.
    • the Activity Use is set to Depot Repair.
Supply Material to Subcontractor
If this check box is selected, the material linked to a subcontracted activity is supplied to the subcontractor.
Note
  • This field is enabled only if:
    • the Subcontracting with Material Flow check box is selected in the Implemented Software Components (tccom0100s000)
    • the Subcontracted check box is selected.
Create Purchase Requisition
If this check box is selected, purchase requisition can be generated as the subcontractor is not identified for the activity.

This field is enabled only if the Subcontracted check box is selected.

Duration
The estimated time that is required to carry out the reference activity.
Note

This is for informative purposes only.

Recalculate Activity Duration
The time duration unit that is defined in the General Service Parameters (tsmdm0100m000) session.
Tolerance Period Start
The maximum time period with which the start date of the generated reference activity can be shifted.
Note

The tolerance period is used only if the reference activity is used in preventive maintenance.

Unit for Tolerance Period
The unit in which tolerance period is expressed.
Tolerance Period Finish
The maximum time period with which the finish date of the generated reference activity can be shifted.

The tolerance period is used only if the reference activity is used in preventive maintenance.

Adjust Activity Dates from Assignments
If this check box is selected, and the assignment is updated:
  • the planned start and the planned finish time of the reference activity is also updated.
  • the planned start time of the activity is set to the earliest of the planned start times of all the related assignments, and the planned finish times of the activity is set to latest of the planned finish times of all the related assignments.

  • This field is visible and can be modified only if:
    • for a service order,
      • the Activity Use field is set to Field Service
      • the Adjust Activity Dates from Assignments check box is selected in the Service Order Parameters (tssoc0100m000) session, and
    • for a work order,
      • the Activity Use field is set to Depot Repair
      • the Adjust Activity Dates from Assignments check box is selected in the Work Order Parameters (tswcs0100m000) session.
Measurement Type
The measurement that acts as a counter to execute the maintenance plan.
Description
The description of the measurement.
During Life Cycle
If this checkbox is selected, the maintenance will be conducted through out the life cycle of the item. Else the maintenance will be carried as specified in the following fields.
Time Frequency
The frequency at which the maintenance plan will be executed.
Created By
The name of the user who defined the reference activity.
On
The date and time on which the reference activity was created.
Effective Time
The effective date and time.
Expiry Time
The expiry date and time.
Note

If the expiry date is in the past, you cannot modify this reference activity.
