| Use Up and Alternative Materials by Engineering BOM (tiedm2115m000)To change the priority of an alternative material, select the
alternative-material line and click Move Priority Up or Move Priority Down Engineering Item An item in the process of development. You can define multiple revisions of an engineering item.
Typically, the most recent revisions are still in a design or test phase,
another revision may have been taken into production, and older revisions are
obsolete. A normal item can only become revision-controlled when it is
copied from the Engineering Data Management module. Engineering Item Revision Status The status of the revision. Unit The physical quantity in which an item or good is managed. For
example, a quantity of wood can be expressed as a length by using the unit of
one meter, or as a volume by using the unit of one cubic meter. BOM Quantity The number of manufactured items to which a bill of materials
(BOM) applies. The BOM quantity enables you to specify very small item
quantities as BOM components. Example You need very small amounts of certain colors to mix one
liter of a specific paint, Cotton White. Therefore, a BOM quantity of 1000
liter is defined. The component quantities for the paint can then be as
follows: Paint Cotton White, 1000 liter: | White | 999 liter | Yellow | 0.6 liter | Red | 0.2 liter | Blue | 0.2 liter |
EBOM Position The position number of the EBOM line. This is equivalent to the position number of a PBOM, except there is no sequence number. A sequence number defines
items that are valid on different dates. Revisions can carry out that (of
defining items that are valid on different dates) function for engineering
items. Component The component of the engineering item (E-item) revision. The
component can be either an E-item or a standard item. Position Identification of the alternative-material record. Alternative Priority The alternative priority determines which of the alternatives LN will select first. Allowed values Use up This is an outdated material ( use-up material) that must be used up first. 1 The alternative that will be selected if the inventory of
the standard material (and the use-up material, if any) is insufficient. 2 The alternative that will be selected if the inventory of
the standard material and the first alternative material (and the use-up
material, if any) is insufficient. 3, 4, 5, ... Lower priority alternative materials. 9 The lowest priority alternative material.
Alt. Component Type The alternative material's component type ( Item or E-Item). Alternative Item Note You can select a non-configurable item only as an
alternative. | |
