To set up the process browser

For an employee to see his or her Process Browser the following six conditions must be met:

Condition 1

One or more project models must have been created that contain at least the following model items:

Note if the value of the Use Employee - Project Model link field is No, you do not need to link employees to a project model, because for the creation of process browsers no check will be carried out that will verify if employees are linked to the project model.

Condition 2

The employee must be authorized for (part) of the project model via the roles.

Condition 3

For each business process within the business process model you must specify if it may be used in the Process Browser. You can do this via the details session of the business process in the Business Processes by Project Model (tgbrg4560m000) session.

Condition 4

An employee must be linked to an ERP user. This link can be established in the Configure Users by DEM Employees (tgbrg8240m000) session in which you must also set the Worktop tree to Process Browser. If no ERP user is created for an employee, that employee will not able to start the Process Browser.

Condition 5

Use the User DEM Settings (tgbrg8136m000) session to define the default Process Browser settings for an ERP user. Moreover, Use this session to specify the default project model and the user authorizations. The latter determines whether an ERP user is allowed to start activities directly from that user's Process Browser or if the Process Viewer must be used.

Condition 6

The created project models must be defined as run time project models in the Runtime Version, Project Model and Optimization Phase (tgbrg0105m000) session. At least one of these run time project model must be linked to the start up company of the ERP user. This default start up company can be selected for every ERP user in the User Data (ttaad2500m000) session.

Note

For every company, one run time project model must be selected as the main run-time project-model. Main run-time project-models are used in the Process Browser for the following purposes:

  • If an ERP user switches to another company, the main run-time project-model, specified for that company, is started automatically
  • If no default run-time project-model has been selected in the ERP user DEM Settings (tgbrg8136m000) session, the Process Browser will start with the main run-time project-model that has been selected for the user's start up company.

The following scenarios are applicable to an ERP user who has the above Process Browser settings:

  • According to the above settings, the ERP user will see project model PM 01 when he/she starts his Process Browser. When he switches to company 200 project model PM 03 will be started automatically.
  • If company 200 becomes the start up company, the ERP user will see project Model PM 03, even though that user's default project model is PM
  • If project model PM 05 becomes the default project model, the ERP user will see project model PM 02 when the Process Browser is started.
