Mapping ERP Dimensions to Reporting Dimensions (tfbia8503m000)

Use this session to map the dimension sequences used in LN to the external dimension sequences in the reporting database. All dimension sequences for which the Publish check box is selected in the Flexible Dimension Definitions (tfbia8501m000) or Fixed Dimension Definitions (tfbia8502m000) sessions must be mapped in the current session

After approval, no BOD will be sent, but this data can no longer be modified.

Note

Although LN supports more than 10 dimensions, in the reporting database, only 10 dimensions can be stored. You are adviced to follow the same numbering for the external sequences as for the (internal) dimension sequences. This means, start with number one for the first dimension sequence and increase the external sequence by one for each following dimension sequence.

Example

The SourceSystemGLMovementBOD is used to publish period balances of the general ledger account/dimension combinations. Among other things, this BOD is processed in the reporting database for financial roles in PM Dashboard. Suppose this database is filled from multiple applications, including LN. LN has the Business Unit dimension defined as dimension no. 1, whereas another application has the Business Unit dimension defined as dimension no. 2. As a result, the period balances cannot be accumulated by business unit, because the dimension numbers do not match.

This session allows you to indicate that the Business Unit dimension must be published as dimension no. 2, so the dimension balances can be accumulated.

Dimension Sequence
The sequence of the dimension in LN.

Allowed values

These values match the flexible dimension sequences in the Flexible Dimension Definitions (tfbia8501m000) session and fixed dimension sequences in the Fixed Dimension Definitions (tfbia8502m000) session.

Dimension Sequence
The name of the dimension sequence.
Predefined Sequence
This field always displays Not Applicable.
External Sequence
The external dimension sequence in the reporting database.
Approved
If this check box is selected, the dimension sequence mapping record was approved.
