Planning Inventory Levels (tctrm1136m000)

Use this session to define the minimum inventory level and maximum inventory level for a specific time period in the terms and conditions agreement.

You can only define time-phased inventory levels in this session if the Min-Max Specification field is set to By Quantity in the Planning Terms and Conditions (tctrm1135m000) session.

Fixed inventory levels and time-phased inventory levels can be combined. For the periods for which time-phased levels are set up, these inventory levels are applicable. For the remaining periods, the fixed inventory levels from the Planning Terms and Conditions (tctrm1135m000) session are used.

Example

  • The terms and conditions agreement is effective from 1 January through 31 December
  • The fixed minimum inventory level is 100
  • The fixed maximum inventory level is 500
  • A time phased inventory level is set up for February with this data:
    • Start date: 1 February
    • End date: 28 February
    • The minimum inventory level is 200
    • The maximum inventory level is 800

Therefore, the inventory quantities are as follows:

Time periodMinimum inventory levelMaximum inventory level
1 January - 31 January100500
1 February - 28 February200800
1 March - 31 December100500

Terms and Conditions ID
An agreement between business partners about the sale, purchase, or transfer of goods, in which you can define detailed terms and conditions about orders, schedules, planning, logistics, invoicing, and demand pegging, and define the search mechanism to retrieve the correct terms and conditions.

The agreement includes the following:

  • A header with the type of agreement and the business partner(s).
  • Search levels with a search priority and a selection of search attributes (fields) and linked terms and conditions groups.
  • One or more lines with the values for the search levels’ search attributes.
  • Terms and conditions groups with detailed terms and conditions about orders, schedules, planning, logistics, invoicing, and demand pegging for the lines.
Search Level
A priority level for searching and selecting a terms and conditions line. Search levels include a selection of search attributes (fields) and linked terms and conditions groups.
Line
The number used to identify the position of the terms and conditions line on the terms and conditions agreement or the terms and conditions template.
Effective Date
The first day on which a record or a setting is valid. The effective date often includes the effective time.
Expiry Date
The date from which a record or a setting is no longer valid. The expiry date often includes the expiry time.
Inventory Unit
The unit of measure in which the inventory of an item is recorded, such as piece, kilogram, box of 12, or meter.

The inventory unit is also used as the base unit in measure conversions, especially for conversions that concern the order unit and the price unit on a purchase order or a sales order. These conversions always use the inventory unit as the base unit. An inventory unit therefore applies to all item types, also to item types that cannot be kept in stock.

Start Date
The first date and time the time phased inventory record is applicable.
End Date
The last date and time the time phased inventory record is applicable.
Minimum Inventory Level
The minimum inventory quantity that must be available in a warehouse.
Maximum Inventory Level
The maximum inventory quantity that can be available in a warehouse.
