Identical configurations of effectivity unitsThe order-planning engine in Enterprise Planning plans only two different effectivity units in one production order if for the main item the Lot Price check box in the Items - Warehousing (whwmd4500m000) details session is cleared, and if the effectivity units have the same configuration. Having the same configuration means that the effectivity units have identical valid material and operations. If an item is lot controlled, and the Lot Price check box is selected, it means that the cost of the items is tracked by lot. In LN, every effectivity unit has a unique lot number. Since the costs can be different for every lot, combining effectivity units in a production order can lead to incorrect lot prices. Note In an identical configuration, supplier data and the sourcing strategy can be different because they do not have any influence on a production order. For item RADAR a number of exceptions is defined for BOM lines and routing operations. These exceptions define material Q-DEVICE as valid for the advanced model, and as invalid for the normal model. Therefore, the configuration is not identical, and consequently the two sales order cannot be combined in one production order. CRT DEVICE is a manufactured component of RADAR. The Lot Price check box for CRT DEVICE is cleared. The exceptions define that the CRT DEVICE is included in effectivity unit 75 (the advanced model) as well as in effectivity unit 10 (the normal model). CRT DEVICE is identical for effectivity units 75 and 10. The production of CRT DEVICE for both sales orders can be combined in one production order. Note that if the Lot Price check box for CRT DEVICE would be selected, the production of CRT DEVICE for both sales orders could not be combined in one production order.
